I agree with you about Lew. He wrote and sang such beautiful music.

I think, in my humble opinion, that the Statler Brothers did not do
much to keep his memory alive.
In their 30th anniverary book, only one line was mentioned about him.
My daugher and I attended the next to last concert in Ashville, NC and
again they barely mentioned him.
I know Jimmy was with them longer that Lew, but there would not have
been a group if not for Lew. His song writing skills amd musical
talents far surpass anything today that calls itself country music.
Of course no reason to bring up his voice, as it was a one and only
and kinda like Patsy Cline, will never be another like it.
I still am a fan of the Statlers, this is not anything against them,
but seems like they could have done more to keep his name out there.
