For the month of October... Happy Birthday to 28-Beatrice McCartney (6)
Happy 6th Birthday Bea! (by Jeannette)
"It’s fabulous to see a course inspired by Linda and her recipes, which will in turn, hopefully, inspire cooks of the future. “Those of us in her family are very proud that the Vegetarian Society has chosen to honour Linda in this way."-Paul (giving the thumbs up to the society for their cookery course inspired by recipes by Linda)
"There was nothing bad and nothing incredible or earth-shaking about her. She loved to sing. I remember our senior breakfast in the school cafeteria - there was a microphone and a good piano player, and I recall thinking, 'Isn't that something! Linda's gonna get up and sing again.' But I can't remember where that 'again' comes from - she must have performed at some other event. She wasn't especially good, but she wasn't bad, and she obviously loved singing and had the self-confidence to get up and do it." -Gail Smith (One of Linda's classmates in Scarsdale High school)
Stella on Mary...
"She was also an amazing photographer. Much of her work launched Rolling Stone magazine and at the same time she was very modest. If she had met the Queen, she would have been more interested in talking to the butler. That's just the way she was." –Stella

Hello and welcome to The Official Linda McCartney Wide Prairie Yahoo Group. Linda was an inspirational woman to many people all around the world. She was not only noted for being the wife of a Beatle but was also a wonderful photographer, a loving mother, a musician, a vegetarian, a vocal animal rights activist, and much more. But that all came to an end on April 17th 1998 when she lost her 2-year battle with Breast Cancer. But her legacy lives on by many and will always be remembered as a true human being.
All discussions about Linda, Paul, and the family are welcome. Help keep her memory alive!
