For the Month of April...Happy Birthday to 3-Arthur Donald (14), Fond Farewell to 17-Linda McCartney
Linda's final days...
"I just remember it being a fun, positive day. I was doing publicity shots for her new vegetarian cookbook and Mum, who seemed to be in remission right until the end, was changing outfits & making suggestions. We were enjoying working together. Neither of us placed the sort of interpretations on the shots that people would later make."-Mary
"I thought of her like a diamond, a big orange diamond. And if you look at all the facts of the diamond ...with every facet you look at, she was greater."-Paul (after her death 1998)
"We knew it was coming, but we tried to pretend we didn't know it was coming."-Paul (on her final days)
"So it suddenly came to me at the moment when she was just about to die. I have no idea why, I just thought, "I've just got to say this." It was as if I was guided & I said, "You're up on your beautiful Appaloosa stallion; it's a fine spring day, we're riding through the woods. The bluebells are all out, & the sky is clear blue." And she just drifted off. So, a terrible tragedy. But I don't think it could have happened in a better way in a better place."-Paul (1998)
"Somedays I don't, I don't believe that you are mine."-Paul (Flaming Pie 1997)
