For two weeks each summer, the Washington DC Mall hosts the Smithsonian
Folklife Festival, highlighting the art, music, stories, and culture of
several regions of the world. One of the featured countries this year
is Wales, a place that is close to our family's heart as the name,
"Lloyd" originated there. We will be visiting this week to learn more
about our own heritage, attending storytelling sessions, sampling Welsh
food, and hearing some of the men's choruses from Wales that are famous
throughout the world.
The other two big areas this are are "Las Americas" and "Giving Voice."
I have attached a map of the festival tents on the mall. The final
week of the festival begins this Wednesday and runs through Sunday. A
