RIDING TO AUSTIN IN A LAWN CHAIR. LBP BLOG
So Marc says "I forgot to bring my car's back row of seats home but
it's ok, I'm putting a folding chair in the back for you, it'll be
great". Well, "great" sounded like BS but since I'm the little guy, I
was just expected to ride in the lawn chair. It was a canvass UT lawn
chair - they had just won like 473 to 2 (or something like that) and
the gear was stacked up around it in a way that kind of made a lazy
boy. Turns out it was "great" after all and the crushed into a bench
seat together non-little guys were jealous while I relaxed and waved
at old people from the back window. On the way home Marc's friend JD
rode in it for a while. He wasn't comfortable and I told Tyson that
it was because he wasn't short like "us". Tyson clearly was surprised
by this statement since apparently he's not short after all.

We got to Austin with plenty of time to spend (even though Marc was
lost for an almost hour in his own neighborhood, he drove into a
roundabout and got all F'd up - "look kids - Big Ben, Parliament").
Trophy's reminded us of a couple of the grungier Houston clubs that
we've loved forever - Rhythm Room and the long gone Blue Iguana. We
felt right at home. The stage, soundman and PA were perfect, the
sound was great. We played an early set but besides one BIG oops, we
played really well and had a lot of fun. The crowd was pretty small
but they were very cool and we met some new LBP family. OK, here's
the big oops - we opended (remember opened) with one of our newest
songs "Skyline". During the long jam, Phyve showed how much he had to
drink on the long drive by falling over the drum set. It was quite
Kurt Cobain of him and while guys rushed in to reset the stage, Phyve
danced away as if it were part of the plan (the plan that doesn't
exist, that is).

It seems we've started a tradition of T-shirt sales girls dancing on
stage with only half of the T-shirt on, it seems to work (Thanx,
Natalie. I hope Costa Rica rocks).

We hung out for a while after the set but decided we were all hungry
and went to IHOP. Phyve hit on the waitress and the rest of us made
fun of Phyve for hitting on the waitress. I think Morris is starting
to realize that his new found friends are a bunch of dorks. As we
make asses of ourselves in public, he rolls his eyes and shakes his
head, it's a nice balance.

If you ever sleep in a room with Phyve (who has started calling
himself "The Johnny"), you won't get much sleep (that's not what I
mean you sick bastards!). He stays up all night, finding it fun to
see who he can irritate the most by acting as retarded as possible
and then he wakes up before everyone else and starts it all over
again.

I've stopped drinking so I get forced to drive the "bus" home after
every out of town trip because I'm the only one who's not hung over.
So after we hunted Tyson down and picked him up (we always have to
hunt Tyson down and pick him up) we were off. They also use my
designated driver service as an excuse to drink at breakfast (Tyson
had a $40 drink tab at Chili's at 11am). Tyson hit on the waitress
and the rest of us made fun of Tyson for hitting on the waitress.
Most of the band slept, I drove and Marc forced me to listen to
Motley Crue (just one song, he was trying to prove how eclectic his
IPod is - one Motley Crue song, ten Tenacious D skits and 400 Phish
jams - maybe it's not that eclectic after all).

This Friday (Dec. 9th), we'll be going up to Bryan for the first
time, I know it's a little bit of a drive but make the trip, it's

Thanx for checking in,
Thanx to everyone who came out,
Don't forget - New Years at Clark's,
Coy - LBP Bass
