Ahhhh, Port Aransas, TX. This time out we rented a 15 passenger van to haul
us and all of our gear to a more southern part of Texas. We take off around
1 on Saturday and after about 15 stops on the way we arrive in under 4
hours. We show up at Trips condo on the beach where everyone appears to have
been drinking since 10 am. Then we go to the venue, setup, sound check and
grab a drink. We play to a crowd of older woman who Phyve charms out on to
the dance floor. After two very sloppy sets we decide to call it a night and
start packing up. Tyson meets me outside and tells me the bar owner refuses
to pay us unless we play one more set. With a mischievous grin I oblige. We
all order 3 drinks and switch instruments. This was, hands down, the worst
display of LBP to date. At one point I remember Marty getting up and
walking away from the band. It was absolutely hilarious. We all took it with
a laugh and a smile. We made it home without a hiccup and plan to pick up
right where we left off. Wait, scratch that....we will pick up where we left
off in HOUSTON, not Port Aransas. Trust me, you don't want any of that!!!!
