They're back! God blessed Little Texas
The last show for Little Texas - formed right here at Belmont University -
happened New Year's Eve 1997. Since then, lead singer Tim Rushlow has started
his own band called, cleverly, Rushlow. Keyboard player Brady Seals, recently
married to singer/TV personality Lisa Stewart, is doing his own thang.
But the other guys have found a new front man, and they're going back on the
road this year, starting with a gig Saturday in Galveston, Texas.
Nashville sideman Steven Troy, who has played drums and sung with Lee Ann
Womack, the Forrester Sisters and others, replaces Rushlow as the front guy.
He got the gig less than 20 minutes after auditioning.
And Steven loves it. First of all, he has always been a big fan of Little Texas
and the band's hits, God Blessed Texas, My Love, Kick a Little and others.
Second, Steven had been hoping to do the artist thing instead of the sideman
thing anyway, and by plugging into Little Texas, he says, ''I've bypassed all
the new artist's troubles. It's just gonna be a really good thing.''
