FEBRUARY 2004 (Austin, Texas) – The Live Oak Coffeehouse this month presents
the fifth annual “send the kids to camp” benefit for the Austin Conspiracy
of Performing Songwriters. In a new twist this year, the musical evening will
also benefit the Capital Area Food Bank. The performance is at 7:30 p.m. on
Friday, February 13, at the Live Oak Unitarian Universalist Church in Cedar
Park.

Peter Mayer, who was to perform on February 13, has had to reschedule his
coffeehouse appearance to a later date.

Admission is $10 or a season pass at the door. Gourmet coffee and pastries will
be served, and are included in the price of admission.

As always, the concert will be smoke-free and alcohol-free, putting the emphasis
on the music and the musicians. Three-quarters of the gate goes to the
performers, and one-quarter to the selected charity. Since the coffeehouse is an
all-volunteer, not-for-profit organization, all of the money from admissions
paid at the door and season passes goes to the performers and the charity.

The Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) is a not-for-profit organization that provides
food to social service agencies to help feed hungry people in Central Texas. For
more information, call them at 282-2111, or visit their Web site at
www.austinfoodbank.org.

The Austin Conspiracy of Performing Songwriters is a local group helping to
promote some of the most talented songwriters, pickers, and players in the Live
Music Capital of the World. They’re also a fun bunch of folks. The purpose of
this show is to help raise money so members of the conspiracy can attend the
16th Annual International Folk Alliance Conference, which is being held February
26-29 in San Diego.

Scheduled to appear on February 13 are Steve Brooks, Edge City, Kerry Polk, Abi
Tapia, the Therapy Sisters, and Jeffrye Glenn Tveraas.

Here’s the rest of our Spring 2004 season schedule. All shows are on Fridays,
with the music at 7:30 p.m. each night.
MARCH 12, 2004: Austin’s Sarah Pierce and the Healers.
APRIL 23, 2004: Terri Allard of Batesville, Virginia, and Andrew McKnight of
Middleburg, Virginia.
MAY 21, 2004: Rachel Bissex of Burlington, Vermont, and Stephanie Corby of
Austin.

Stay tuned for further information on a special show!

Doors open at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 13, at the Live Oak Unitarian
Universalist Church, located at 3315 El Salido Parkway, Cedar Park. For driving
directions, visit the church’s Web site at www.liveoakuu.org or call 219-9008.
