MARCH 2004 (Austin, Texas) – The Live Oak Coffeehouse this month presents
Sarah Pierce and the Healers in a benefit for Amigos de las Américas, a service
organization that sends volunteers to Latin American countries to help local
communities. The performance is at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 12, at the Live
Oak Unitarian Universalist Church in Cedar Park.

Admission is $10 or a season pass at the door. Gourmet coffee and pastries will
be served, and are included in the price of admission.

As always, the concert will be smoke-free and alcohol-free, putting the emphasis
on the music and the musicians. Three-quarters of the gate goes to the
performers, and one-quarter to the selected charity. Since the coffeehouse is an
all-volunteer, not-for-profit organization, all of the money from admissions
paid at the door and season passes goes to the performers and the charity.

Amigos de las Américas is an international, nonprofit organization that was
founded in 1965. After training for several months, the high school and college
student volunteers conduct service projects in Latin American communities.
AMIGOS fosters personal growth, leadership, and cultural awareness. Partnerships
with Amigos include organizations such as CARE, Save the Children and Plan. The
volunteers live in host communities, and actively participate in daily community
life; they help build latrines, water-storage tanks and fuel-efficient stoves,
and/or educate children and families about nutrition, dental hygiene, and
disease prevention. Funding is provided by the volunteers, their friends, their
families, and through self-directed fund-raising projects. For more information,
visit the AMIGOS Web site at www.amigoslink.org.

Sarah Pierce was born in Rockford, Illinois and raised in rural Texas and
Colorado. She has a wonderfully unique sound. Her music is a blend of both old
and new world sensibilities. The Los Angeles Times stated, “Sarah Pierce seems
a likely candidate for contemporary music fame.” On her new release, “Love's
The Only Way,” Sarah takes a step closer to that reality. With each song, her
lyrics daze with elegant poetry that carries the listener over wide musical
vistas on each soul-bearing turn of her incomparable voice.

Here’s the rest of our Spring 2004 season schedule. All shows are on Fridays,
with the music at 7:30 p.m. each night.
APRIL 23, 2004: Terri Allard of Batesville, Virginia, and Andrew McKnight of
Middleburg, Virginia.
MAY 21, 2004: Rachel Bissex of Burlington, Vermont, and Stephanie Corby of
Austin.

Stay tuned for further information on a special show!

Doors open at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 12, at the Live Oak Unitarian Universalist
Church, located at 3315 El Salido Parkway, Cedar Park. For driving directions,
visit the church’s Web site at www.liveoakuu.org or call 219-9008.
