...we'll present the always captivating Michael Smith in a benefit for
the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians. You may have heard about
HAAM earlier this week, during the organization's Benefit Day on
Tuesday. Now, you can help keep our beloved Austin musicians healthy
by coming to the Live Oak Coffeehouse on Friday, October 12.
The always entrancing Richard Berman will open the show, which is
scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Admission is $15. Doors will open at 7 p.m. at
the Live Oak UU Church in Northwest Austin/Cedar Park.
Three-quarters of the gate will go to the performers and one-quarter
will go to HAAM. And that's all of the ticket sales, not "proceeds."
This is the way we've been doing it for 10 years, as a service to the
Austin community.
Next week's coffeehouse is the only one scheduled for this season.
That's all we can say for sure. Whether there will be a Live Oak
Coffeehouse in 2008 and beyond is in question. So, please come on out
and show your support for the Live Oak Coffeehouse.
Don't do it for us. Do it for the musicians.
