DECEMBER 2001 (Austin, Texas) - The Live Oak Coffeehouse Concert Series
concludes its Fall 2001 season this month with a live performance by Austin's
Ed Miller and Lubbock's Andy Wilkinson in a benefit for the Sierra Club. The
concert will be held on Friday, December 14, at 7:30 p.m. at the Live Oak
Unitarian Universalist Church in Northwest Austin.

Admission is $8 at the door. Gourmet coffee and pastries will be served, and
are included in the price of admission.

As always, the concert will be smoke-free and alcohol-free, putting the
emphasis on the music and the musicians. Three-quarters of the gate goes to
the performers, and one-quarter to the selected charity. Since the
coffeehouse is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, all of the money
from admissions paid at the door and season passes goes to the performers and
the charity.

In addition to their Friday evening appearance at the Live Oak Coffeehouse,
Ed Miller and Andy Wilkinson are scheduled to perform on John Aielli's
"Eklektikos" radio program at 11 a.m. this Friday. "Eklektikos" is heard on
KUT-FM, 90.5 on the FM dial.

Founded in 1892, the Sierra Club had legendary conservationist John Muir as
its first president. "Explore, enjoy and protect the wild places of the
earth," the organization's mission statement says. The Sierra Club's Lone
Star Chapter makes its headquarters in Austin. For more information, see the
chapter's Web site at http://texas.sierraclub.org/.

Ed Miller is originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, and now lives in Austin. He
is a product of the 1960s folk revival in Scotland and has toured throughout
North America; his repertoire is representative of the breadth of the
Scottish folk revival. From children's street songs to songs of nationalism,
emigration and urban life, a performance by Ed Miller is both educational and
entertaining.

Andy Wilkinson is a writer and singer of contemporary western folk music.
Through his poems and songs, he weaves images of people and places in telling
the tales of the American West of yesterday and today. His material comes
from true stories of the past and present, real events in the lives and times
of the people of the West.

Doors open at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 14, at the Live Oak Unitarian
Universalist Church, located at 12310 Ranch Road 620 North. For driving
directions, visit the church's Web site at www.liveoakuu.org or call 219-9008.
