FEBRUARY 2002 (Austin, Texas) - The Spring 2002 season at the Live Oak
Coffeehouse Concert Series continues with a live performance by Kerry
Grombacher and Danny Santos in a benefit for the Capital Area Food Bank. Rick
Steinburg opens. The performance is on Friday, February 8, at 7:30 p.m. at
the Live Oak Unitarian Universalist Church in Northwest Austin.
Admission is $10 at the door. Gourmet coffee and pastries will be served, and
are included in the price of admission. The artists are also suggesting that
a donation of canned food be brought to the show.
As always, the concert will be smoke-free and alcohol-free, putting the
emphasis on the music and the musicians. Three-quarters of the gate goes to
the performers, and one-quarter to the selected charity. Since the
coffeehouse is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, all of the money
from admissions paid at the door and season passes goes to the performers and
the charity.
The Capital Area Food Bank of Texas Inc. (CAFB) is a non-profit organization
that serves as a clearinghouse by receiving and storing truckloads of donated
food and other grocery products. CAFB distributes the food and grocery
products in manageable quantities to human and social service agencies that
help people in need. More than 300 member agencies in 21 Central Texas
counties partner with the Capital Area Food Bank. The CAFB, which opened in
1981 and is an affiliate of the America's Second Harvest program, distributes
more than 10 million pounds of food and grocery products each year. For more
details, see the organization's Web site at www.austinfoodbank.org.
Austin-based Kerry Grombacher plays guitar and mandolin and writes
contemporary folk and western songs, as well as country songs and ballads.
Grombacher performs regularly at festivals, house concerts, coffeehouses and
other folk music festivals. He travels throughout the West, appearing at
numerous cowboy poetry and music gatherings. His latest CD is "Sands Motel,"
and it was preceded by "Riding for the Brand."
Danny Santos is a Brambus Records recording artist and a native Texan
singer/songwriter. He usually performs solo or with his band, Los Bluegrass
Vatos. Santos has two CDs out, "Sinners & Saints" and "Caution to the Wind."
A music specialist at Round Rock's Spicewood Elementary School by day, Rick
Steinburg is a local singer/songwriter affiliated with Austin's Tres Hombres
Music Publishing Company.

Universalist Church, located at 12310 Ranch Road 620 North. For driving
