SEPTEMBER 2002 (Austin, Texas) - Kat Eggleston and Kate MacLeod are splitting
the bill in a very special concert at the Live Oak Coffeehouse. The
performance is on Friday, September 20, at 7:30 p.m. at the Live Oak
Unitarian Universalist Church in Northwest Austin.
Admission is $10 at the door. Gourmet coffee and pastries will be served, and
are included in the price of admission. No season passes will be accepted for
this show.
As always, the concert will be smoke-free and alcohol-free, putting the
emphasis on the music and the musicians.
Very rarely do we schedule additional shows after our "regular" season has
been booked. But when we learned that Kat and Kate would be touring Texas
together this September, we jumped at the chance to book them. Don't miss
this rare opportunity to hear these two fabulous performers in one show.
Kat Eggleston, who resides in the Chicago area, is one of the most
accomplished singers/songwriters today. She is also a virtuoso guitarist and
hammer dulcimer player. Elating audiences with her beautiful blend of sweet
melodies and gentle honesty, Kat's music is universally appreciated by young
and old, alike. Her personal Web site is www.kateggleston.com.
Kate MacLeod, who has lived in Utah since 1979, considers the fiddle her main
instrument, though her songwriting has been, more recently, the catalyst for
her career. She is an unpretentious songwriter whose lyric style is subtle,
spare and sometimes chilling. She delivers her music with strong vocals and
guitar playing, and exquisite fiddle playing. More details are at
www.katemacleod.com.
Doors open at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 20, at the Live Oak Unitarian
Universalist Church, located at 12310 Ranch Road 620 North. For driving
directions, visit the church's Web site at www.liveoakuu.org or call 219-9008.
