GREGORIAN CHANT WORKSHOP DAY

Saturday 17th June 2006 10.00am - 5.30pm
St George's Roman Catholic Cathedral, Southwark, London.

The Academy of St Cecilia is delighted to announce our Gregorian Chant
Symposium, to be held on Saturday 17th June 2006.

The day will be lead by some of the world's leading experts on Gregorian
Chant and is aimed at members of the Academy and also musicians and members
of both the Roman Catholic and Anglican Churches. Ideal for all those
interested in the Chant, there will be practical workshops for Parish
musicians who wish to learn more about how they might use the Chant in their
Liturgies, through to a more scholarly approach encompassing the latest
theories of the Solesmes method in practical workshop sessions.

There will be parallel workshop sessions during the day in order to
accommodate the different needs and abilities of participants

Dom Daniel Saulnier O.S.B. - Solesmes
Professor Nick Sandon - France
Martin Baker - Westminster Cathedral
Philip Moore - York Minster
Roxanna Panufnik - Composer

Singers who wish to improve basic skills, learn intermediate and advanced
interpretation or a fresh approach to directing and singing the Chant

for Cathedral or Parish use

Early music scholars who wish to learn more about the Chant and its origins
