I teach English Literature and The Media to High School Students.
Last week we had a Powerpoint of mostly Pre-Raphaelite paintings
on "The Lady of Shalott", with the poem and Loreena's rendition of the
ballad to go with it. The students were blown away by the end of it and
were unable to say very much at all! They were still taking it all in.
I must add that I felt moved myself and was unable to speak for a few
moments.
An hour or two later several students came up to me and said it the
poem, paintings and music were "beautiful" and that they were moved by
the experience. They wanted to know about the song and where they could
find it. None had heard of Loreena before. I've referred them to
Amazon. They can find their way from the reviews on McKennit's work
there.
