Hi Everyone,
I've had the chance to listen to Air Supply's new and latest
album "Across the concrete sky" a few times since the concert in
Tacoma, Washington. I personally find this album really good and
very unique.
There has been talks about Graham doing more vocals than Russell
within the last two or three studio albums, I for one find it even
for this album and "Yours truly". I must admit at first I found a
few songs very awkward but I took the time to listen to them and
read the words in a nice quiet room, it started to kick in to me
after a couple of times.
1. Shadow of the sun- Beautiful song, Russell and Graham sound great
in the part "Is this love, yes it's love".
2. Big Cat- Jazzy flavor, I am also a Jazz lover.
3. Love is the Arrow- I like the beginning of this one, very mellow
song.
4. We are all children- Got awkward at first but still a pretty song.
5. A place where we belong- Love this one, should be a hit.
6. Feel like screaming- A spooky song, fantactic vocals by Russell.
7. I'll find you- This is the best I've heard from Graham, my top
favorite of the album.
8. Come to me- Another favorite, great song.
9. I want you- A type of song you got to expect from Graham, nice one
10. You belong to me- Another simple mellow song, Like it:)
11. Goodnight- Short and simple by Russell.
Personally, I can appreciate both guys still together making music
and not replacing each other with someone else but themselves.
I see Journey without Steve Perry, Styx without Dennis Deyoung and
some other bands replacing the legendary voices due to bad health or
other problems. I am glad to still see Russell and Graham still a
duo.
Sure we see Graham giving more vocals to the newer songs but Russell
is there along with him. I am sure the guys really work well in
working out whoever does the vocals to certain songs and parts of
it. I was happy to see Hall and Oates back together. After 25 some
years Air supply still makes great music and best of all they are
still around. I'd hate to see them end and I am just gonna enjoy
them while it last.
Scott
