* 8 - 12 PM - MASSIVE SONGWRITER OPEN MIC:

Location: The Blue Nile club located at 532 Frenchman Street in New
Orleans' famous music district the Marigny Triangle. It will be hosted
by Barbara Cloyd who has hosted the Open Mic at the world famous
Bluebird Café in Nashville for some 20 years. The Nashville
Songwriters Association International "NSAI," the premiere songwriting
organization (which now owns the Bluebird) is a sponsor of the event
which will be billed the "New Orleans Songwriters Festival/Bluebird
Open Mic." Up and coming songwriters get the chance to "show their
stuff" in front of music industry publishers and record label people
invited to the event. You just never know who may be in the audience

SOMEBODY'S GONNA WIN A GUITAR!!!
At the Open Mic, we are going to give away a Composite Acoustics
("CA") Guitar (value:$2,700), a couple Pick-up-the-World acoustic
guitar pick-up systems (value: $200), 6 hours of free studio time (2
hours each at Piety Street Recording, The Music Shed, Sound Landing ),
two free TAXI annual memberships (value: $300), and two Nashville
Songwriters Association International (NSAI) annual memberships
(value: $150).
Here's the drill - show up at the Open Mic, play, and stick around
until the end of the night when we announce the winners--and it's not
based on talent--it'll be a random drawing of all who play the Open
Mic!!! You must be present to win!
