Dear members,

Since the LOUSY BUMS are no longer standing on the corner trying to
cadge booze and drug money from upright citizens, no longer inflicting
their worn-out, cliched mid-tempo "adult" rock upon the ears of
unsuspecting, self-medicating bipeds, no longer clawing and scratching
for that Brass Ring, it appears that this yahoo group serves no
purpose whatsoever.

So, the suits upstairs have decided to liquidate the entire operation.
News of this revoltin' development travelled surprisingly slow. Still,
there were tears. Or maybe it was an allergic reaction.

Anyway, the group will be going pffft in a few days. If members would
like to snag photos or files or whatever meager content that exists
here, feel free to grab what you want and sell it to the scrapyard.

Raise a glass of ginger jake for those lousy bums.

The No Kill I is marking the arrival to the River City of STOVOKOR,
the Klingon heavy metal band from Portland by playing TWO shows. One
will be at the Elbow Room in San Francisco with BLOOD HAG, who are
hosting a record relase for themselves. When: Wednesday night sometime
after 9pm, May 10th.

On Saturday, May 13th, the aforementioned bands will be playing at the
Distillery with the Four Eyes. This will start after 10 pm and will
probably cost about 6 dollars.  21st and K

On a quieter note, I will be playing all by myself at Luna's (16th and
O) on Friday, May 12th. I'll be opening for the Hell Outs and the
Spillit Quickers, which ought to be a lot of fun. Starts at 9pm. $6.
All ages.

Yeah, so what the hell is Kid Rock doing hanging out with Jerry Lee
Lewis? Last night was the second time he and the Killer have appeared
on teevee together. The first time was a Willie Nelson and friends
thing. This time, the Killer was set to do I Walk The Line. He did it
his way, fucking with the timing of the lyrics the way he always does.
It was cooking along pretty good for a guy in his 100s. Then the kid
comes out and sort of apes JLL. He keeps adding "baby" to the end of
every line. It was really annoying. Then, at the end, the Killer
repeats the first verse and the Kid fucking BLOWS IT. How hard is it
to remember, "I keep the ends out for the tie that binds"?! The guy
was given a chance to not only work with the KILLER, but pay tribute
to Johnny fucking CASH. One of the coolest songs ever and he totally
shits the bed. Now I find that he's a GOP shill. Good. Let them have him.

So, I am forwarding a post that I put up at sacramentorockcity just so
this group doesn't look so dead. There are a few new members. That is
a real shock, sonce there's nothing really happening with the group.
Who are you people anyway?

There might be a 'Bums gig in mid-December at the Swill. You will know
as soon as the band knows.

In other old news, the party as Bill Smith's was nifty. Charles pulled
it off pretty well and the crowd was small but well-mannered, except
hippy bob who wanted us to play a fear song. Charles saved us from
being too commercial by fucking up the intro to our new hit, Do The
Hate The President.

Who focken cares? I just got done with the Alive and Kicking story on
th losin streaks. (I posted a blog about this on my space, but since I
don't know who in the group is a "friend" of mine, here goes...

Am I the only person who is sick to death of reading about Mike's past
(and current?) drug use? I am pretty sure the guy is clean, but it
ain't my business any way. I, like many of you have heard all the damn
junky stories I care to. Other rocknroll people have gone through the
same meat grinder as mister farrell and have told the story better.

Was this latest "revelation" Mike's idea (c,mon, man. People will buy
the latest recording on the merits, not because you used to jab
yourself.) or Jerry's, or both?

Are there scenesters who are so desperate to make Sacramento almost as
cool as The City that they will take our most famous drug addict and
beat the dead junky for all the mileage possible, with the music as an
afterthought?

Not quite, but kinda like SammyTown continually bragging about killing
his girlfriend at Fang gigs when he first got paroled.

If that's all there is, to this person, beyond the excellent guitar
histrionics and untouchable stage moves, maybe someone needs to
either quit writing about or stop talking about what is supposed to be
ancient history.

Or, maybe readers of Alive and Kicking love repetition.
