the house was not that far but that day for some reason it seemed to
take forever. I had no trouble keeping up with mom as our strides
were
almost the same rythem and speed.But still I was beginning to breath
heavier with each stride we made,soon I realized we were not heading
toward the villiage but farther away from it. My heart began to pound
with
fear.I asked mom,"Mother,where are we going?", as her stride began to
lengthen and soon she was at her fullest sride I was at a full out
run.
She came to a sudden stop and I collected myself and leapt over her
to
avoid hitting her, I slid to a stop and returned to her side and
again
I asked,"Mother where are we at?", she just stood and looked at me
her
only daughter with her onyx pools and replied in her low voice,"Lady
we
are near the camp of the MacLeods.", she said as she turned and
looked
down the cliff I followed her lead and soon I saw them. I pulled
back in fear that they would find us and kill her then try to capture
me and make me into a pet for their own devious uses. I started to
run
but she stood nearer and calmed me,"Easy now lass.It's allright we
can
see them but they can't see nor feel us near them.", she said as I
stood near her shaking with fear and near a panic. I took a puppy
step
forward and looked over the ledge at them, "They would be so easy to
kill." I thought to myself and crouched to get within killing
distance.My mother sensed my intentions and with an unusually cruel
bite of her white teeth she tore my right shoulder,"Lady you must
never
try to attack them.We are their sworn protectors for centuries now we
wolves have been the MacLoeds guardians as well as guides through the
woods.",she said between clenched teeth as she backed me into a
corner
and began to tell me the Legacy of how I was to be the one that would
live forever and become a living part of history. I just stood and
looked at her in shock and confusion,"Mother,how do you know I will
be
the one who will become part of them and live forever?",I asked her
thinking she had lost her mind. She went on to tell me,"You come from
a
long line of shapeshifter/immortals. You are the last from Black and
I's lineage. After the two of us are gone there will be only you and
a
human named Duncan MacLeod.Together the two of you will stand united
and battle the forces of evil that humans try to use to enslave those
weaker in the human race. Together you two will become known as 'the
ones that will not die'".I just got to my feet and replied,"Mother
you
have to be drunk. There is no such thing as immortals, shapeshifters
yes. But immortals uh huh.", I said as I turned to go back to the
villiage. The rest is a blur and a vague momory but I do know that I
died and from that day on I was Lady Wolf the one who will not
die.
