I wouldn't say there are really an similarities to
Curve in L'arc en Ciel's sound. I, myself, only like
a handful of their songs. They're mostly too much of
a straight forward commercial "stadium rock" band for
my tastes.

Trying to think of any Japanese bands that have
similarities to Curve, and the only one that comes to
mind is Guniw Tools. No female vocal, but Full is
nice in a whiney, whispery androgynous way. ^_^ Guniw
Tools are a bit more all over the map musically than
Curve, but if you ever get a chance to sample them
good tracks to check out to see what I'm saying would
be Misty Gate, Kashiko Toriko, and Border of Taboo.
Steel Leaf sounds so much like Men Are From Mars Women
Are From Venus off Cuckoo that at times I find my self
singing the lyrics to the latter over the former.

Other Japanese bands I really love include; Plastic
Tree, Cali ? Gari, and FAKE?.

If you are curious about any of this stuff, I love to
do mix exchanges. Contact me off list if you are ever
interested in trading samplers, anyone. ^_^

I just thought this was a nifty out-of-nowhere simile, in a review of a new EP by a band called Jesu: "The four songs on this EP are completely...
