I was just curious if anyone had purchased any of the mp3's from the
Curve site...I placed a request close to a month ago & haven't had
any response...and now that I find out the band is defunct once
again, I'm a bit worried...

For those with access to the VH1 Classic channel on cable, there's a
pretty good show called Alternative on there. It's like Post Modern
MTV and 120 minutes, when it was good. It's on Sunday nights and a
few other nights of the week. They played the Fait Accompli video
this past Sunday!
Fred, no offence here - and I'm sympathetic to the cause - but the low and behold discussion group is international and many members will not be in a position to influence US politics. Curve fans are a bit of a minority too (albeit in a less serious respect), so let's not alienate people and see them unsubscribe.

Congress will vote in the next 48 hours on President Bush's plan to deny marriage equality to gay people.Click here to help stop it now. Please also forward this email to your friends and ask them to speak up too.
Dear MoveOn member,
In less than 48 hours, Congress will vote on an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would permanently deny marriage equality to same-sex couples. This is unprecedented -- never before has our Constitution been amended to take away anyone's rights. We've got to fight back.
Please sign on to our emergency petition to Congress to stop this divisive amendment at:
Then please ask your friends and family to sign, by forwarding them this email. We'll deliver our comments tomorrow, before the vote, so we need as many people as possible to sign on today.
President Bush campaigned on a promise to unite us, not divide us. Yet today, as people are questioning Bush's handling of everything from the war in Iraq to the economy, Bush and his friends are trying to distract voters from the real issues by turning to the politics of division and hate.
If America stands for anything, it stands for equal rights and opportunities for everyone. Throughout our history, we've struggled to guarantee that equality: ending slavery; securing voting rights for women; and passing the Civil Rights Act just 40 years ago.
Equality in marriage is the civil rights issue of our generation. We can't let anyone, or any group, be singled out for discrimination based on who they are or who they love.
When two people make a deep personal commitment, taking responsibility for each other and doing all the work of marriage, they should be able to share in the legal benefits of marriage as well. These benefits include access to health care and medical decision-making for one's partner and children, parenting and immigration rights, inheritance, taxation, and Social Security benefits.
This isn't a partisan issue, notwithstanding Bush's pandering to his right-wing base. Former President Gerald Ford, a Republican, said this about same-sex couples and marriage: "I think they ought to be treated equally. Period."1 Also, many major corporations, including Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Disney, Coors, and IBM, offer health insurance and other benefits to their employees' same-sex partners. Senator Lincoln Chafee (R-RI) says the amendment is "Nuts... To be seen as the party that's coming between two people that love each other doing what they want to do... to me that's going to be seen as a liability, politically."2
Yet President Bush is bent on moving America backward, by enshrining discrimination in the United States Constitution.

I lost all my CD's, including Cuckoo, Doppleganger, New Adventures, Gift, Come Clean, and my personal favourite, Pubic Fruit. My insurance doesnt cover fire either. So now Im drinking a Guiness and thanking God I wasnt in the damn thing. At least I got my kilt out of there.

well...of course the cd's are great!!! i haven't had a chance to
listen to it much, but the sound of the earlier songs seems more
clean sounding than what i remember hearing on the original
releases. it is definitely great to have the b-sides - especially
low and behold - all on one cd. 'in disguise' is the only song i
hadn't heard...it sounds like something from the "new adventures"
era....which is very cool. my only complaint is that the lyrics
aren't included...i guess that would have made the booklet too long.

Heard a Lush song (Undertow) in a Levi's ad, too. Ad people are at
least getting hip to great songs by non-commercial artists. Also
wondering if anyone can find the last studio CD(after 'Gift' - the
name eludes me) in america. I can't locate it anywhere but Europe
(and the mp3 compliation, too). Very expensive for those imports.

Well I dont know anything official but the website said the next
release was supposed to be in the spring or 2004 however, the actual
text has changed to "Compilation Available 2004".
I know one thing I am more than ready for this release.
who knows....maybe they are working on new material. the
compilation cd should be coming out sometime this year.
