Your comparison is relevant, but in fairness, didn't it take them several weeks?

It onyl took the nazis one night to purge the ghettos. how long could it
take a MODERN gameboy, in many ways superior to the nazis, to purge one
little song of a few similar chains, who aren't even hiding in pianos or
under the floor boards.

I just went through a song and did this method of adding 0FF to phrases I wanted
to fill in later, well 0FF, 0FE, 0FD etc.. so I didn’t’ merge all those
phrases. And even with those ones blocked off, I cleared 45 phrases.

Yikes

An interesting feature might be , and this is probably way harder, but if two
phrases are identical, EXCEPT, the pitch of the notes. I mean this if a phrase
is

E5 01 --

-- -- --

-- -- --

-- -- --

-- -- --

-- -- --

-- -- --

-- -- --

A5 01 --

-- -- --

-- -- --

-- -- --

-- -- --

-- -- --

-- -- --

-- -- --

Etc.. so there are only two notes

And a 2nd phrase ios

D5 01 --

-- -- --

-- -- --

-- -- --

-- -- --

-- -- --

-- -- --

-- -- --

G5 01 --

-- -- --

-- -- --

-- -- --

-- -- --

-- -- --

-- -- --

-- -- --

Etc..

The phrases are identical in when the notes are played, what instruments they
are, and what intervals the notes have to one another. So if they could be
merged to 1 phrase, but then the 2nd phrase transposed by FE in the chain column
it would save a bit of space. Probably much harder to do

One of the great things about this new feature is that you can easily make new
blank or k phrases (or anyother phrases that youre not quite sure if you have
already made) anywhere at anytime, and just merge to save space. Its a real
timesaver if you get used to it.

I guess I have to be much more careful in how I make my songs.  Perhaps the
solution is that I change, and improve.  That’s a fair solution
actually.

Good thinking. Actually it should be enough just to put a command
value with no command, like -FF

The new LSDJ merges phrases that are the same, to save space. But because I
leave blank phrases where later I will fill in information, if I “clean song
dataâ€, I go back and enter my music, and lo and behold, all my silent parts
now have music I nthem. It would be really really helpful if the merging of
phrases did not include empty phrases.

I have a feature request. This has been causing me considerable problems. The
new LSDJ merges phrases that are the same, to save space. But because I leave
blank phrases where later I will fill in information, if I “clean song
dataâ€, I go back and enter my music, and lo and behold, all my silent parts
now have music I nthem. It would be really really helpful if the merging of
phrases did not include empty phrases.

Does anyone else think this? Or just me?

Hi,
I am in a period of fixing very rare crash bugs.
Work is slow but making progress.
Would like to thank everyone that mails in crash reports!

Regards
Johan

2009-11-30: v3.9.j

  * bugfix: fixed seemingly random crash bug related to bank switching.
  * fixed, or at least safed up, some dangerous/broken code.
  * bugfix: copy/paste problem in synth screen. copying from one row
and pasting on another could result in invalid data.
  * added more useful info to crash screen.
  * cleaned up interrupt handling.

Did anyone ever buy one of these? I was pretty intrigued, but a
combination of the manufacturer's terrible english and the rather
Stalinist removal of any discussion of the cart on 8bc meant more
details were hard to come by.

The Smartboy cart is pretty much a ripoff of the GB cart flasher.
(Using the same hardware layout and microcontroller firmware)
<http://www.ziegler.desaign.de/readplus.htm#GB_Flasher>
It's using the same flash chip as the BleepBloop cartridges. As such
it should work the same way, assuming there are no hardware flaws that
could degrade performance. (Too slow RAM, missing filter caps, badly
designed PCB layout that will cause interference/leak capacitance
problems)
From what I hear they work pretty well, and it should be compatible
with my mysterious LittleFM software. (Shameless self promotion)

As I see it, you have two options.
1. Have patience and listen through the previous phrases.
2. Create temporary chains containing the phrases you're working on.

This matter has actually been discussed some time ago and if I remember
correctly a key combination to achieve what you ask for was voted down due to
inconsistencies if the different chains in a row contained different amount of
phrases.

Cheers,
t

Unfortunately, no. Normal cartridges use ROMs for data storage, meaning they
cannot be written to, but the smart cartridges, usb, etc. use rewritable memory.
It's possible to make your own flash cartridge using a normal cart(
http://www.reinerziegler.de/readplus.htm#Home ), but unless you really want a
project, I suggest simply buying one.

Hey, I was wandering:
Is it possible to transfer LSDJ and other music making programs
via Transferer II to a normal gaming cart? or does it have to be
the smart cart/USB cart?

Hi!
So the time has come where kids want to swap LSDj songs on the school
yard, instead of Pokemon? Amazing.

This has been requested before (as have link transferring of clipboard
contents) but I never got to it.
If you can settle for swapping the entire contents of the cart, the
Mega Memory Card can be a solution. They are cheap on eBay.

Thanks,
Johan

Okay, I'm going to start by saying I tried to search for this and I didn't find
anything, even though I'm sure it's been suggested many times. I'm going to say
it anyway.

There have been several occasions where I've been at school tracking with
friends and maybe I like the song they make or we collaborate on a song... but
only one of us has this song.

So here is my idea (which I've had for almost a year now): Would it be possible

Hi,
this feels a little weird to me. But it seems someone is complaining
to eBay in my name, to remove auctions with Little Sound Dj
cartridges?
If that someone can read this... Please just report those auctions to
me, instead of writing to eBay on my behalf.

Thanks,
Johan
