With the announcement of Placido Domingo that he does not foresee
another reunion of the Three Tenors, I am not without hope that he can
be persuaded to reconsider his position. I have written to him,
expressing my disappointment and I hope all of you will take a few
moments to do the same. He has the right to make his own decisions
regarding the direction of his career, but it occurs to me that maybe
he does not realize how much we, the public, value those concerts. I
have heard that he and Carreras were booed by the audience in Monterrey
this past summer, because Pavarotti was ill and could not appear. While
I hope this is not true, if it is true, this may be partially
responsible for his reluctance. Please let this maestro know how you
feel. Please encourage him. Maybe that is all he needs. Mary
