Mary,
First of all, how does one go about contacting the tenors? I would
love to let them know of my gratitude for all of the joy they have
given me over the years.
This is the first time I have read this message or heard anything
about either the end of the Three Tenors concerts or the booing at a
concert.
I, like all of us who so enjoy hearing these marvelous singers
perform together, will hate to see it come to an end. That being
said, I realize that all good things must come to an end eventually.
If they have decided not to perform together, then I regretfully
respect that decision. They have worked long and hard to entertain
us for many years (yes, they have been well paid and this is only
right). If this is the end for the group, I wish each of the tenors
good luck in whatever they choose to do in the future.
Now, as to the alleged booing incident. As you observed, no-one can
be blamed if an entertainer is sick. For God's sake, the man is 70
years old and not in the best of health. He will occassionally get
sick! The show still went on and the audience got to hear some of
the greatest singers in the world. I understand disappointment at
not hearing Mr. Pavarotti, but come on! Stuff happens and we have to
work around it.
Once again, if this is the last curtain call for the great trio, then
I thank them for all the pleasure they have given all of us, both
individually and collectively. God bless, you, boys.
