Re: [Ludwig Vistalites] Hi everybody

Hey!

Congrats on the kit! I'm pretty happy with my current head setup, it is
loud and a bit fat, but not too muffled. I use Evans G2 on batter side
and Evans Hydraulics on the resonant side - all clear. I have also used
Ludwig Silver Dots on the bottom head, but the hyrdos take just the
right amount of ring out for my style. It really depends on what kind
of sound you want, but in my opinion the Vistalites, all acrylics
really, tend to be a little on the bright and dry side - I like to add
a little warmth back in with the 2-ply top and wet bottoms.

Bass drum: If you want the loudest possible, use an Emperor or a Ludwig
Heavy, but it will ring like mad. If you are gonna stuff a pillow in it
anyway then who cares :-) I use a Aquarian SuperKick 2 batter and a
Ludwig Heavy clear ported front head. Again, I like it a little fat and
thick and not too bright.

Have a blast! Those drums will be fun at gigs!!
