I use Evans G2 on the tops and Evans Resonates on the bottoms.For the
Bass I am now using an Evans Emad batter with a Remo clear single ply
on the Front .I also use a Evans Damping Pad, but I use it externally
not mounted inside as intended. The resulting sound is amazing, big
and deep not edgy like alot of new sets I hear.The toms have a big
fat sound, but these drums require some patience when tuning. I do
not believe in mounting my toms on the Bass, for fear of cracks. So I
use a Heavy Duty 9000 DW double tom holder to hang the 12" and 13"
The look is certainly not classic but thats how I play and I believe
it keeps both toms closer to the snare and gives me room to put my
K ride above the Bass. Have fun with them.
