Okay gang, not to burst anyone's bubble here but the new amber drum
kit that is supposed to be so close to Bonham's is far from it.

First off, the spurs are the larger ones, second of all, no rail
mount ( I know they are no longer in production) and then no, bass
drum mounted cymbal arm. No rack tom mount. But the worst thing in
this is the Rack tom is an 8 lug instead of a 6! Now anyone that
knows drums, knows that for a small 14" drum like that there is no
need to have 8 freakin lugs on it! That is not going to add to the
sound at all! Further more with that many lugs on the tom you ad a
lot of weight to it, if then you decide to ad a tom mount you wind up
making the drum so heavy and cluttered looking that it really looks
stupid!

I loved the vintage Ludwig drums and still do. But I have to be
honest, Selmer is run my a bunch of morons and people unwilling to
satisfy the customer like Ludwig use to. This is why I started to
use DW now endorse them. Had this been dw, they would do everything
possable to make sure my kit was built right. Ludwig just doesn't
give a damn.

You can't tell me that it is not gonna take anymore time to drill a
few less holes or ad some here and there than it would to just zoom
50 kits thru at a time just to make a buck!

I think Selmer should do what they know, stick with horns because
they blow! I now have a kit ordered and must build my own rack tom
and sell the shell of the reject because in my opinion it's a pice of
junk anyway!

There, I feel better now ha ha

Kurt~~

I'm glad you were able to get that off your chest Kurt. I agree that the kit is not "just like" the Bonham but it is nice looking. Unfortunately, as it is with...
