I don't think it's all of 45 degrees. i'm not an expert but as i recall it's more like 35 degrees.. allthough the common router bit is no doubt 45 degrees....

yeah. what i did on the one drum i cut. all that was available from the local hardware store was the standard 45 degree router bit. so i set up on my router...
