The link works Marlene...For those familiar with the corps scene
back in the heyday, Marlene is a former BON BON girl, which was a top
class corps, all girls, on the National scene. They sparked an
interest in all girl corps with me, and while in the military in the
early sixties, I worked with the Gabrielettes all girls of
Belleville, Illinois, and then when I came home, was a co-founder of
the Forest City Vanguard of Portland, Maines first all girl corps. I
dont believe, although I dont know for sure, if there has ever been
another all girl corps in Maine. We only lasted a few years. We did,
however, capture the Class C color guard championship a couple of
years in what was at the time known as the New England Color Guard
Circuit.
Hey Marlene, if you want to for old times sake, feel free to
post a pic or two of the BON BONS in the photo section for any who
dont remember them to get familiar. Thanks again for all your help
with the pics.
