Hi,

we're leaning strongly towards doing a Santana show next year. There
are currently 2 arrangements of the song "Smooth"--one by Ford and one
by Saucedo. The arrangement I remember hearing 4 or 5 years ago when
the song first came out had this trumpet shake about 2/3 of the way
through. That's not the Saucedo and I assume, since it's easier, it's
not the Ford. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, played it, or
know the arranger?

Thanks for any help.

Mike

Hello,

I have been working on the new site. It is still not done. I should
be done by Sunday.
I will be tweaking the site in the next few weeks to make it super
easy to understand and navigate.

I will not be inputting youtube videos. Instead, I will be uploading
video files, midi's, mp3's etc.
I know that some of you cannot see youtube videos from your school
because of site that are blocked.

Also, on the right. There will be blog entries on a regular basis
covering everything under the sun.
This is to provide interesting content for you to read, see, listen,
and respond to.

It would be great to build ALL your clientele from one day to the
next. But I have seen that this takes time.
I hope you use the site to network with other people. I hope to create
a place where Directors, Musicians, and Music Lovers can get together
and build connections with one another.

There is also a ChatRoom. You don't even have to login. If you do
... Your screen name will be your login name.
I will be in the ChatRoom from time to time.

If you do not want to get e-mails ... just simply remove your email
address from your account.

If something doesn't work ... please let me know.

Thanks for all your help and support.

Nope, I haven't heard of it..... I wouldn't mind having a copy though :)
ummm, like how freakin high are you talking about (lol)? I'm in 9th grade, in
the marching band so I should be able to play it.... I know all the notes on the
sax, but that dosen't necessarily mean I can get them out with a nice tone, lol

You can now find scrims that are more versatile than sharkstooth,
better projection surfaces, possible to hang in panels and capable of
special effects and secret entrances...and they are affordable on a
show budget, not just a capital budget. Check out: http://www.studio-

Full scenic painting is even available, as are rentals.

Hey Guys and Gals!

Some of the most beautiful and soul-stirring marches of all time were
written by German composers. Amazon.com is one of the world's largest
suppliers of rare and hard-to-find products having cultural and
historical significance. This site offers an excellent selection of that
company's CD's of German marches:

You guys mentioned the fellows on Lenin's tomb wearing their medals - well - I
found them in this video from our own Vietnam Days. It's National Anthem time
in Red Square complete with [who knows???] 10,000 soldiers standing at
attention? It must be November too for their national day celebration as they
are in overcoats - I think in May they would be more lightly dressed. The sound
is good! But no marching.

   2MB in wmv format.

   Enjoy!

That's really cool. I want to be a music teacher. You are so lucky that you get
to teach all the little ones and bring music in to the life of more childeren.
We don't have a community band unless someone starts one and thats usually band
teachers that make those. As for the marching pieces we played Georgia On My
Mind, Hit The Road Jack, Cantena Band (drum break), and I'm A Believer for our
field show this year. If you are looking for some ideas for drill, the movie
Drumline helped me a lot because I write drill and help my director with it
during marching season, but it is concert/symphonic season right now so we are
trying to think of ideas for next year's show. Well, hope that helped and keep
on teachin' those kids cause it's bringing more musicans into the world.
   Sincerely,
     Heather

can apply in marching band competitions. Though I hate to admit, we lack on some
marching band pieces.
