You hafta be a member (so join already) but, Did ya see the new contest?

Write your Mark Farner story! Check out he official rules and the blank page at the Captain's Crew contest page!
Happy New Year Captain Crew Members!

One of the many creative contest ideas that fans suggested was to send in their "fan stories"
for Mark to read. We really like this idea and Mark thought it would be great to read what fans
have to share!

Mark feels it would be to difficult to pick just one story as a winner... "Everyone has a winning
story to tell, right?"  Therefore, ALL members can share their most memorable Mark Farner
story for Mark and other fans to read. To Mark, every fans story is special, so he has chosen
to do a random draw for this contest.

CONTEST DETAILS:

To enter the drawing and have Mark read your fan story:  Submit your "Mark Farner Fan Story" by 10:00 p.m. on 01/25/08.  Story should be 250 words or less.

Only one entry per membership.l

My
Mark Farner
Fan Story
Mark will pick a winner by name from the stories sent in and on 01/31/08 we will announce the winner as well as post ALL the stories for other fans to read. The winner will receive Mark's Book "From Grand Funk To Grace".
I'm thinking everybody has a story...I gotta couple e
of 'em but I doubt anybody really wants to hear those...so, it's a good thing I can't enter! I can't wait to hear your though....;;)~Suez

Sir Paul McCartney has heart operation as divorce takes its toll

Last updated at 09:36am on 2nd January 2008 Sir Paul McCartney has undergone heart surgery, it has been revealed.
The 65-year-old musician has been mired in a bitter divorce battle with Heather Mills for the past 18 months.
He complained of feeling unwell in the autumn after a series of stressful rows with Ms Mills, 39, over arrangements for their four-year-old daughter Beatrice and the former model's public tirades against him.
Scroll down for more...
Secret operation: Sir Paul McCartney had 'routine' heart surgery in the autumn after feeling unwell following a series of rows with estranged wife Heather Mills
Sir Paul had a coronary angioplasty - a procedure that helps unclog arteries - after seeing a Harley Street specialist at the London Clinic, according to reports.
The operation was serious but "very routine", a source told The Sun.
The former Beatle recovered from the surgery quickly because he took regular exercise and had a trim physique, a friend said, adding: "He has always been in exceptional health, which is remarkable when you think of the rock 'n' roll lifestyle he once had."
Sir Paul was well enough to perform a duet with Kylie Minogue in front of millions of viewers at New Year. The pair sang his hit Dance Tonight during Jools Holland's New Year special on BBC2.
Scroll down for more...
Recovered: Sir Paul made a speedy recovery and performed with Kylie Minogue on Jools Holland's New Years Eve show
Coronary angioplasty is performed by inserting a thin tube into blood vessels in the groin and threading it up to the aorta, where a small balloon at the end of it is then inflated. The balloon squashes fatty deposits blocking the artery, allowing blood to flow more freely.
A short wire-mesh tube called a stent is usually left behind to support that part of the vessel.
Football star David Beckham's father Ted, 59, underwent the same operation after he had a heart attack.
Sir Paul and Ms Mills are still hammering out the terms of their divorce settlement after their fouryear marriage collapsed in 2006.
Next month the High Court will decide how much Ms Mills will receive of his £800 million fortune.
Ms Mills could be sued by her former law firm for £2million. Last month Mishcon de Reya was said to be looking at legal action of its own to recover its fees after a preliminary divorce hearing failed to reach a settlement.

No,the one titled Grand Funk Lives;it mentions the 69 Inside Looking Out video and also says they were trying to get Farner on some Classic Rock Awards show. That is exciting because it is from the UK where GFR wasn't as big as they were in the US and Japan.

Grand Funk lives!

The eagle-eyed among you might've noticed a name-check for the legendary Grand Funk Railroad in one of yesterday's Clog (Classic Rock Blog) entries.

We've said it before and we'll say it again: they don't make 'em like this any more.

The campaign to get Mark Farner a gong at the 2008 Classic Rock Awards starts here!

When I was kid obviously Jimi knocked me on my ass, but the next band to do that was Grand Funk Railroad. I bought the red album when it came out, I don't even remember how I happened on it but oh my God I played the hell out of it.

The bass on that album is phenomenal.....the sound is huge and the bass is on the edge of amp distortion just driving the crap out of it...... solid, solid drums and I gotta tell ya, for all the bad rap Mark Farner supposedly was getting as a guitarist, I loved him.

His tone is great and I loved he was getting it with a non Fender/Gibson name model like the Strat or Les Paul everyone else used, especially since I was using an Aria Diamond I think ...( I cannot find a picture of the model I had anywhere). In my very first garage band we used to do Inside Looking out and I played it note for note as loud as I could get my amp LOL and we slayed 'em when we did that at gigs. I also had the records at home and the 8 track tapes in my car when 8 tracks came out some years later....

Anyway, first go back to 1969 with the first video and then if you want there is a 5 part series on the band that is really cool.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0x6chChxzV0

I still have my original copy of the red album, mostly unplayable now.......damn what memories these guys bring. Jimi was so good he was untouchable, but this is really the band that gave me hope I could try play rock 'n roll.

What I did NOT know until today was that the song " I Who Have Nothin" by Terry Knight and the Pack, which I liked as a kid, was actually the beginning of Grand Funk, that Terry Knight would be their manager etc etc

Yeah, I remember that their live version of Heartbreaker was the first thing that ever really made me sit up and take notice of the bass. I really should get a copy of that album, I haven't heard it in oh... must be about thirty years or so, but it's high time I did.

I recently bought the iTunes offering of Grand Funk...the red album. It is pretty good, the sound quality reminded me of the vinyl....Huuuuuge bass!!

Interesting story, I never knew they had so many legal battles.

Related note: Microfrets Guitars are back in business. Mark Farner and Carl Perkins are the only well-known guitarists I am aware of who played these things. They are really great sounding guitars and are supposed to play great as well. Their looks, IMHO, are an acquired taste. \:D

Grand Funk has always been fantastic in my book. I got into them in reverse--heard Monster Magnet's cover of "Sin's A Good Man's Brother," and loved it... so I went back to the source and checked out Grand Funk in greater depth.

And I liked what I heard. A lot.

Wow... I'd never YouTubed them before.

I can see how the Conan the Barbarian look and the general stage antics must have looked very silly once the moment had passed, but it's fantastic playing.

I might be... I don't mind the cold, either.

And, while we're on the topic of Michigan rockers I dig, let's not forget The Stooges, Mr. Ted Nugent and Alice Cooper--all big influences for me.

Always dug Grand Funk and thought that Mark Farner was underated as a player and a singer.

I remember seeing Mark Farner solo as opening act for Charlie Daniels Band at a former roller/ice rink - Commack Arena in LI,NY in late 70's or early 80's.
He was receiving some of the worst abuse I have ever seen any artist ever get. They were hurling not only insults and obscenities, but open gallons of water at him and many other objects.
Obviously these lunkheads had no idea who he actually was. He ignored the abuse for all of his set, but at the end flipped the double bird and walked off.
I felt really bad for him and of course I actually did know who he was and dug him. That concert was a mess, the most fights, vomit and ambulances I have ever seen at any event.

Well, even if he had been some guy on his first gig, that behaviour sucks.

Wow!! The Commack Arena...a blast from my past!! As a young kid, I ice skated there hundreds of times!! And, went to many a Long Island Ducks Ice Hockey game!! I also saw Frampton there, and I'm pretty sure that one or two of the songs on "Comes Alive" were recorded at that show????

Of course I knew GFR's big hits. Somehow, I was never a big fan. I'm not sure why??? Maybe I just missed them???

I'm gonna go check out those vids, Lister. Thanks wave

Hey GP magazine....why don't you run a cover issue on Mark Farner. He has influenced a lot of guitarists and deserves some credit. His style was ont overly technical, but especially in the power trio context, as a guitar player he nailed it.

To me I can see RHCP in here in a way.....even how Anthony used to go shirtless a lot and the long straight hair etc....and rhythmically the whole guitar thing....RHCP were just more funkier and more in keeping with their times...

Lee is in Heaven talking about Michigan rockers! cool

I loved GFRR. Mark Farner was no "great guitarist" but he stayed at a Holiday Inn Express the night before. rawk

He was great at power chords, wrote some pretty good rock and put on a great show.(I think Brewer wrote We're American Band) I saw them twice.

My 1st band played them as they were easy to play, good dance music and all the kids loved them.

Don Brewer just finished a run with Bob Seger. They toured a year or two ago sans Farner. Farner tour solo in the 80's.

I haven't kept up with them (with the exception of Don Brewer.

Lee, do you have any info?

Peace

Mark has a new band and a website and MySpace site.

He has Karl Propst on keys, Lawrence Buckner on bass and Hubert Crawford on drums. I think it is called Mark Farner and N'rG.......

He seems similar in personality to Ted, to me.

About Mark Farner & N'rG
Yes, it's the same songwriter. The same guitarist. That same unmistakable voice that powered Grand Funk Railroad to 12 platinum and 15 gold albums.

Mark Farner is a true rock 'n roll legend. He found fame and success at the age of 20 as the leader of one of America's most successful rock bands, Grand Funk Railroad. With GFR, Mark recorded 17 albums with total sales of more than 25 million records, and toured the world, which isn't bad for a guy who only had three formal guitar lessons.

As a teenager in a garage band, Mark played the usual dates - school dances, VFW halls, wedding receptions and the like. After leaving high school, Mark entered the professional world, working with The Bossmen, Terry Knight and the Pack, then just the Pack (this time without Terry Knight, but with future Funk drummer Don Brewer).

In 1969, Mel Schacher, who had been a member of ? and the Mysterians, was invited to join Mark and Don, and power trio Grand Funk Railroad (named after the Grand Trunk Railroad in Michigan) was born.

But it wasn't until the Atlanta International Pop Festival in July 1969 that GFR first caught anyone's attention. The only unsigned act on the show, Grand Funk Railroad played before 180,000 people in 110-degree heat and the acclaim was instantaneous. Following their Atlanta appearance, the band was signed by Capitol Records and their first album On Time, was recorded and released within four months.

The saga of Grand Funk Railroad is well documented. The albums included such titles as Grand Funk Railroad, Survival, Live Album, Closer To Home, E Pluribus Funk, Phoenix, Good Singin' Good Playin', Caught In The Act and All The Girls In The World Beware, among others. The hit singles included "I'm Your Captain (Closer To Home)," "Foot-Stompin' Music," "Loco-motion," "Mean Mistreater," "Bad Time" and "Some Kind Of Wonderful," among others. In 1971 they set the attendance record at New York's Shea Stadium for a concert, surpassing the record set by The Beatles in 1966, and a record that still stands today, some 35 years later.

In early 1977, Grand Funk Railroad called it quits, and after taking a year or so off, Mark Farner signed a solo deal with Atlantic Records and issued two critically acclaimed albums: Mark Farner and No Frills.

In 1981, a reunited Grand Funk Railroad recorded a new album, Grand Funk Lives for Full Moon/Warner Bros. Records, and a second album, What's Funk, shipped in 1982. Mark released 4 contemporary Christian albums from 1983 through 1994, earning a Dove nomination and reaching the number 2 chart position with the John Beland composition "Isn't it Amazing". His continuous touring schedule kept him in contact with both his longtime Grand Funk fans, and the new fans that first noticed Mark during his solo years.

In 1995, Mark toured with Ringo Starr's All-Starr Band, then toured with The Northwest Airlines All-Stars in 1996 before reuniting with Don Brewer and Mel Schacher to record their Bosnia album for Capitol-EMI. Grand Funk Railroad toured in 1996, 1997 and 1998 and was named to Pollstar's Top 100 Tours of 1998. VH-1's "Behind The Music" on Grand Funk Railroad has been airing since early 1999, as well as the Grand Funk Railroad Anthology album released on Capitol Records.

Today, Mark is still traveling the world, both with the All-Starr Band and fronting his own band, N'rG, pleasing GFR fans everywhere and continuing the legend begun with Grand Funk Railroad!

This is something I wrote back in 1997 when I first became a member of "Roadkill", the GFR mailing list.

Subject: Grand Funk Recollections

From: shoot400mc@...

Date: Mon, 7 Jul 1997 07:53:46 -0400 (EDT)

I'm a 41 year old GFR fan, been one since 1969 or early 1970. I forget how I got turned on to Grand Funk, but I remember getting "On Time" and playing the record for everybody I knew. Even back then I thought their style of rock and roll was different (and much better) from everybody else's. I paid $2.50 for the album, money I earned from cutting the neighbors yards. Since GFR was putting out albums so frequently, I had to mow a lot of lawns!

The "Red Album" was next, and soon became a favorite. "Winter and My Soul" is still one of their finest songs. In fact, I consider this album one of their best. The songs are so good, it in itself could be considered a "greatest hits" album.

The "Closer to Home" album brings back a lot of pleasant memories. I had just bought the album in July of 1970. One week later our church youth group left for a retreat to Myrtle Beach, SC. We went one evening to the arcade/pavillion, and playing on the huge sound system was "I'm Your Captain". I still think about that every time I hear that song. It was the perfect setting for that song, the ocean, the seagulls, etc.

Also, I remember a band named "The Dawks" played "Nothing Is the Same" on the beach at the Isle of Palms, SC. They had a singer who was a dead ringer for Mark Farner on vocals. They may have played some other GFR songs, but I don't remember which ones. This band also used to rehearse next door to where I lived, so I could "hop the fence" and go listen to "GFR" two or three nights a week.

I saw Grand Funk for the first time in Charleston, SC. It was November 6th or 7th, 1970. The concert location was "County Hall". It has since been renamed the "King Street Palace". The place was packed! I have never seen so many people in that building at one time. Mark Farner was wearing a black and white jumpsuit and was all over the place. Mel Schacher stayed pretty much in the shadows but his bass guitar rumbled through out the night's concert. Don Brewer played a great solo during TNUC, unbelievable that with so few drums, he could put out so much!

I didn't see GFR again until January 31, 1975 at the "Carolina Coliseum", in Columbia, SC. This was to be their final concert tour before the breakup. The show was similar to the "Caught in the Act" CD except they played "All the Girls In the World Beware" instead of "Black Licorace". It was a great concert and I took a lot of nice photographs, some which I still have today.

In December of 1988, I found a copy of Mark Farner's "Just Another Injustice" in the local Wal-Mart. I learned shortly thereafter he would be giving a concert down in Jacksonville, FL. I was there! It was great to hear "I'm Your Captain' live after so many years. The one thing I noticed was this guy was having a GREAT time. If you closed your eyes you'd swear it was Grand Funk! I took some fine photographs of the show and got to meet Mark afterwards. We talked for about 15 minutes, I took some more photos, got his autograph, and drove the long way home to Summerville, SC. This concert was Jan. 17, 1989.

Next year, he was again in Jacksonville. Jan. 16, 1990 to be exact. I took my younger brother Bill with me this time. I also took some 8x10 black & whites from the previous year's concert. I gave Mark one of them, and got the others autographed. I found out a few years later he had my photograph hanging on the wall behind the desk in his office. What a thrill that was for me. He told me when I gave it to him that he liked the photo and would hang it up when he got home, but I didn't expect it to behind his desk!

He returned south once again May 21, 1993. He was scheduled to perform that evening at the "Township Auditorium" in Columbia, SC. I had made arrangements with his wife to interview him early that afternoon. His bus had arrived late, so setup of their sound and lights took longer than they expected. He asked me if I would like to stay for the sound check, and we could do the interview shortly before the show. The sound check was great, I heard "Save the Land", and parts of "I'm Your Captain" and "Conflict". I was also allowed to take whatever photographs I wanted, even if I wanted to take them from the stage itself. That is what I did. I wound up with some really nice black & whites of Mark from about 3 feet with a 45mm lens on my medium format camera. He was very cordial and asked me several times if that was the angle I wanted, etc. After the sound check was finished we went to a small office and spent about 30 to 45 minutes talking about a variety of subjects, why GFR broke up, his prison ministry, his disgust with the present Presidential administration, and why he thinks it ludicrous that we're sending our jobs overseas and south of the border. He also told me how he wrote the words and music of "I'm Your Captain". He said "Gary, I prayed to God one night to please give me a song that would touch the hearts of millions of people. I woke up about 3 in the morning and wrote the words, went back to sleep and in the morning picked up my guitar and wrote the music. Lo and behold, "I'm Your Captain". It's the only time I've written a song that way, lyrics first, music second."

I'm really excited about the fact that they're back together, hopefully they will be touring down south soon. Like I said before, I've been a fan for a long time, and if anybody deserves to be back together making music, it's them. Hope to see them in concert again real soon.

That's not a typo. That's an editing symbol journalists used long ago to indicate the end of a story.

This is the end of my story at The Flint Journal.

Today's my last day here, after 17 years. I was one of many people who accepted the paper's buyout. I don't think of it as retiring -- though at 50, it's weird to think I can collect a pension in five years -- and it's not a career move.

It's all about family.

My family and I have suffered a lot of loss over the past five years. My oldest brother died in 2002. I got divorced in 2004. My dad died in 2006. Heck, even my dog died this year. That's when my life officially became a country song.

There's more, but I'll spare you.

Suffice it to say that real life has beaten me down, and music, that most transcendent of escapes, hasn't been able to compete with it. Though I have some very dear friends here who helped (and they know who they are), it's hard to go through this without family around.

Most of mine is almost 2,000 miles away. So next week I'm moving home to El Paso, Texas, where my mom, one of my brothers, my sister and her husband need me. Not as much as I need them. And the warm weather won't hurt.

The Sun City isn't known for its musical legacy, though Marty Robbins did write a great song about it. But it's where this Air Force brat grew up, saw my first concert (Grand Funk Railroad, no less, in 1970) and developed a love for music and the desire to write about it.

I left the border city 24 years ago for several reasons, one of which was a dissatisfaction with its lack of cultural offerings, especially for a city of its size. I came to Michigan in part because my former wife and my late dad are from here, and in part because I'm a huge Detroit Tigers fan.

One of the highlights of my life was sitting in the upper deck for the final game of the '84 World Series as the Tigers whipped the San Diego Padres for the championship.
I took a job with the Kalamazoo Gazette in 1983 and served what I consider to be a seven-year internship. It was there I got to know an emerging comic named Tim Allen (I still send him a Christmas card every year), and where I covered the Monsters of Rock tour for Rolling Stone.

It's also where I got married and where the true love of my life, my son, Keith, was born 19 years ago.

Kazoo and the newspaper were too small for me, so I jumped at the chance to transfer within the company to The Flint Journal, where I became the music writer in October 1990. I've been here ever since, though I never thought I'd stay this long.

The original attraction was the chance to cover shows in the Detroit area, certainly bigger than any city in which I had worked. But it didn't take long for me to realize the caliber of the talent here in Flint. Since I was always big on local music coverage -- going back to my college days at Texas Tech and the fertile music scene that fostered the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Delbert McClinton, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Terry Allen and many others -- it was important to me that The Journal include that on its pages, too.

I've covered and interviewed some of the biggest names in the industry - Madonna, Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Prince, David Bowie, Eric Clapton, U2, James Brown, Radiohead, the Who, Notorious B.I.G., Tim McGraw, Bill Cosby, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant, Alan Jackson and Motor City heroes from Bob Seger and Kid Rock to Eminem and Motown greats such as Diana Ross and Smokey Robinson, who once gave me a big bear hug after a show in Clio.

I covered tour openers for the Rolling Stones, U2, Metallica and, of course, Bob Seger in far away places like Las Vegas and Boston. I was also on the field when the Stones performed at Super Bowl XL at Ford Field, and was in the stands at the Palace when the Pistons won the NBA championship in 2004.

But as satisfying as all of those things have been, nothing has given me greater pleasure than the interaction with the musicians, bar owners, station managers, DJs, publicists and, of course, the readers that have been around these past 17 years.
I got to cover some pretty big local music stories, including LaKisha Jones' rise from this year from "American Idol" to Broadway's "The Color Purple," Davison band Chiodos' ascension up the indie rock ranks, Johnny Cash's last full concert (at Whiting Auditorium), the rise and tragic fall of the dear departed Clio Area Amphitheater, the emergence of the Machine Shop as a local music force, Grand Funk Railroad's late '90s reunion and bitter breakup (Journal photographer and all-around nice guy Bruce Edwards and I once drove Mark Farner's guitar to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the band) and the murder of their former manager, Terry Knight.

I wrote about Flint's early '90s rap explosion that saw M.C. Breed, The Dayton Family and Top Authority climb the national charts, and experienced the exhilaration of a Run-DMC show at the Copa.

And I was there when Flint Township resident and bluegrass pioneer Wade Mainer -- who played for FDR and shared a stage with Woody Guthrie -- celebrated his 100th birthday with his 88-year-old wife of 70 years, Julia, and a 50-minute set last April before an SRO crowd at the Fenton Community Center.

Local music coverage always has been a mission, and it was vital that all of the music coverage be fair, honest and not self-indulgent (except, of course, my occasional Stones columns!).

I leave knowing that at least we increased its presence in the paper in a big way, with cover stories, reviews, my columns and our club listings, which grew from a handful 17 years ago to two pages every week in The Entertainer.

I also started the paper's first blog (Pullenmyblog) in part to update readers on what's going on around here, though I never fulfilled its promise. There was never enough time.

It's humbling, a little embarrassing and very cool that some of the musicians I've written about over the years are throwing me a farewell concert at 5 p.m. Sunday at Jester's, 3112 N. Center Road.

Rusty Wright Blues, which instigated this, is playing, as are the Blue Hawaiians, Jim Coviak's Steelheads, folk singer Kevin Tyler and some names I can't tell you. George Zaravelis is donating his club and the food. Keith Jennings of Whaley Children's Jam fame is donating sound and lights.

Come out, say goodbye, talk music and, most importantly, listen to the wonderful sounds these hometowners make.

The Journal isn't replacing me. If you have events, news items or club listings to submit, send them to Misty Gower, the new features/entertainment/opinion editor, at entertainer@.... She's good people.

If you'd like to stay in touch, you can write to me at pullen.doug@....

I plan to freelance and start my own blog. But I'll never forget the 17 years here.

I'll miss friends, my co-workers and my softball and volleyball teams.

I'll miss them all. And I'll miss you. Adios!

GOD is Busy!

If you don't know GOD, don't make stupid remarks!!!!!!!

A United States Marine was attending some college courses between
assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.

One of the courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist and
a member of the ACLU.

One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He
looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, "God, if You are real, then
I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15
minutes."

The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten
minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, "Here I am God. I'm
still waiting."

It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out
of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking
him off the platform. The professor was out cold. The Marine went
back to his seat and sat there, silently. The other students were
shocked and stunned and sat there looking on in silence.

The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at
the Marine and asked, "What the heck is the matter with you? Why did
you do that?"

The Marine calmly replied, "God was too busy today protecting
America 's soldiers who are protecting your

right to say stupid stuff and act like an idiot. So, He sent me."

I met Doug back in 1996 when GFR played their 10 city mini-tour.  We've kept in touch over the years and I talked with him back in November when he told me he was leaving the Flint Journal to go back home.  He always kept me up to date about Mark and the other two guys, and sent me an e-mail high 5 when he read my review on Don and Mel's show last November.  I will miss reading his stuff, he and I felt very much the same way about the Flint 2 version of Grand Funk.  Back in 2001, he was verbally abused by the fans Don & Mel's new band because he gave a not so glorious review of their show in Detroit.  One of the Cyberfunkers even wanted to "hunt him down".  He pissed off our favorite drummer at least once or twice.  Doug's voice sounds nothing like the way he looked.  I pictured someone similar to Jackson Browne but was surprised to find out he looked more like Randy Bachman with a goatee. I never realized until November 2007 that we've experienced the same loss of family members.  Both my parents are gone, my younger brother died in 2006 and Tito (our dog) passed on in December of 2006 after 17 years.  I got divorced in 2003.  But, neither of us shared those stories with each  other.  We just traded little tidbits about Mark and GFR.  Doug sent me a newspaper spread the Flint Journal did back in 1996 when the Funk were just starting to tour again.  I called him when Mark wanted to use one of my photos, and he was one of the first people I called after I got the phone call from Mark in July of 2006.  We could have been best friends I think, if we lived closer to each other, but I was content to just have some to call when I wanted to chat about GFR.  I'll miss him at the Journal but I'm sure we'll talk soon.  Best of luck Doug, you deserve it.

Hey you guys,

About broke my heart to see that the official Myspace site had removed Paul E O's picture from the band line up. Then, I asked if it's an official decision on his part....it is.

For, as you know...Paul E O took a sabbatical and stayed away fromplaying with N'rG for half the season last Summer....Now it looks like it may be rather permanent.  Andhe has very good reasoning for it too. It's for his health and wellbeing and it's a good call in my opinion even though...I'm really gonna miss him like you are!

So, since Paul put his good friend Karl at the keyboard [affectionately known as; Keyboard Karl]....and Mark said: "Alright,"  I guess it's  a change up to be welcomed even though........Man, I'm feeling the loss.

Change is sometimes good...
