Dancin' In The Nude!   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #105 of 207 |
For twenty years I was on the road with various traditional burlesque
revue shows and I first discovered Martin Mull from a bunch of stoned-
out musicians who would play his albums backstage in the greenroom.
I've always appreciated clever lyrics and was instantly a huge fan. I
loved "Miami", "Loser's Samba" and "Margie the Midget" but my favorite
has always been "Dancin' in the Nude" because that's what I did for a
living. Eventually I acquired an 8x10 black and white glossy photo of
Martin Mull and I would always hang it on my dressing room mirror.
That picture has toured with me across the country and has even been
to Europe and Australia! Now, even though I'm semi-retired, I still
have that photo. It's a little worn around the edges with remnants of
feather boas and eyelash glue but still has a place of honor in my
livingroom in Phoenix. So, Martin Mull, if you ever read this, I want
you to know that you are well-traveled, well-loved, and well-hung!
