This group was set up to explore the real story behind the sabotage of the "MC5 - A True Testimonial" documentary, the intensely captivating film which chronicled the spectacular rise and fall of the late MC5.

An exhaustive legal examination of the facts surrounding this brilliant documentary revealed a craven conspiracy to devastate the commercial possibilities of the MC5 film, destroy the reputations & careers of David Thomas & Laurel Legler & diminish the extraordinary creativity of both Rob Tyner & Fred "Sonic" Smith.

In truth, Rob & Fred earned far more respect than that; as Don McLeese noted in his "Kick Out The Jams" book, "the band's legacy was very much the legacy of these two men" & the MC5 would have NEVER existed without them.

For the grueling and arduous task of bringing this film to completion, Future/Now Films, Thomas & Legler, their entire production crew, all the friends & fans of MC5 who believed and invested in this film also earned and deserved our respect.

After a trial in Santa Ana (CA) Judge Andrew Guilford cut through the smokescreen, pulled the curtains back and restored some semblance of 'purity and accuracy' to the shredded remnants of the MC5 legacy.

He found that there had been never been an agreement for Wayne Kramer to be the "soundtrack producer" and that the entire brouhaha had only transpired after it became obvious that the film would be a success. Rather than honor the memory of the MC FIVE, the survivors, motivated largely by greed, joined in a wicked conspiracy to block the documentary & capitalize on the "True Testimonial" controversy in order to release a substitute DVD & hype a sham MC5 "reunion".
