I am typing this in English and then clicking on German when it asks
what language I want to post in. Let's see what happens.

I was very confused when I first signed up and tried to post messages
here, because in my personal Hotmail mailbox, I received both replies
to my postings and other posting, but even got a copy of my own
posting sent to that address. Then I discovered how to eliiinate
receiving those e-mails and be less confused. If you click on "Edit
Membership", at the bottom of the page is a button labelled "Web
Only - Don't get notified of the latest happenings. Read messages
only on the web". If you click on this button, you won't get the
postings here sent to you as an e-mail in your regular mailbox.
Personally, I prefer not to get all the postings sent to me as e-
mails to my private box--I'd rather come here to see everything all
together. That may change in the future as we get more postings here,
but for now, I'm satisfied.
BUT, some of you may prefer getting the postings from this site
mailed to your private mailbox. It could save you having to come to
this site. You won't have to register to get in. I worked around that
by logging in once and clicking on the button to log me in
automatically under this nickname and password. I can do this cuz no
one uses this computer but me, so no one woould get in here and use
my name to create havoc.
It's taking me a while to figure out the workings of this site. I
still can't figure out why it lets me log in as MikusTheBear but not
MikeTheBear. It looks like we're figuring out how to post, how to
display photos, and how to maneuver around here. It was a lot easier
to get around the old site, but I am adapting to this. I may even
become adept.
Are the other categories in the old site coming over here too, or
getting their own site here, or just staying where they are now?

I noticed it asks here what language you want to post in. I'm curious
if it automatically translates for you. And also, if say someone were
to submit a posting in German, whether clicking on choice of language
would translate the German to English.

...This will take some getting used to, huh? -I guess changes in life
are to be expected...It was just so nice to be able to chat with the
Community of Beautiful People all on one Board....Oh well.

Discussion as that is disappearing from the Board.

Dave, hi. I confess to sharing your concerns about the wisdom of this
decision. I think the rationale was that the GD forum is
unnecessary/superfluous on the board when other forums exist for wider
conversation. Dia may be able to say more about that. But what has not
been taken into account is that, for a good number of dedicated fans,
the board has been a real Community where they've felt at home, among
family, and could talk freely about their lives as well as their love
of Melanie and her music. I'm sad the forum has gone.

I wonder why we've all been thrown off the board as far as any
sociability between us all is concerned.
There have been no flame wars or unpleasantnesses since poor old
Tarbaby Jim's last unfortunate contributions- so what is it all for?
I've got to say that I'm not very happy about it, and I can't see it
being any long term benefit to Melanie and her site.
I suspect that very few people will check the BP site so frequently
once they see how dead it is in danger of becoming.
I wonder who I'll come up as when I post this.

I'm a bit clumsy when it's about computers...
Maybe know I'm "lucky (???)" to have a knee injury so I have all the
time to learn how this board works...

you go to Post and click and a new window will appear where you can write.
It will be send to everyone but you can choose to have a Daily Digest
or to have each message send to you or to have no email at all.

I hope this will work here and I hope we will have a great group of
friends here that will support each other in good and bad times.

So I hope to read about Audrey's pregnancy and to hear how Rita is
doing. How Anja is coping and about Mike's health.

I would also love it if Marilyn would make a photoalbum here with some
of the beautiful photo's she took at concerts, to do that go to
Photo's and start uploading.
