its showtime
wheres your stage
i called the round
and tried to behave
a guitarist single out there now
supposed to be comic
whats so funny anyhow
well the T man could speak
but the other man talked well
and i hung up fast
had to be somewhere to tell
now you all know my name and my number too
and the fact is, im stubborn its true
the buzzer and the ability to find your neighbor
its so easy to get into that kind of labor
but who the hell are you to insinuate
my better half has got to give her body away
just cause im sitting here typing today
my favorite four letter words reserved
with a hand that can do anything
like throwing a ball curved
in peaceful times i'd do that
but now you understand
why ive got this crazy look and eye
all across the land
its showtime
damn straight im stubborn too
im approachable, come to me
wherever i am, we'll show a thing or two
then its just like this lady friend of mine
to say no she don't want to go
so i left the round stage behind
ya officer you motioned me to step on in
ya gate keeper you stood upright then and there
ya alk you no karate for you tonight
since when does a comic carry a guitar, is that right
so i just heard about a jim gone and died
the hero took in heroin, his body ashes tonight
two weeks ago he left this planet earth
his spirit amongst the livin angels
he left his traveling hearse
been reading bout jimmies for days on end
and was told of a jim, don't mess with him
well that was nearly 2 weeks ago
now i understand
that jim i knew as a teenager
don't walk anymore on this land
been thinking while talking with my brother
who told me of the angel jim
bout how those teen age years
and the people i meet
how i forgot the foundations of now
cause of back then
its been more than a few years
since i even thought of that man jim
doesn't make sense the hero called heroin
a mighty fine time to get you dead
and not coming back again
well the concert stage is filled with
the sounds of someones guitar
and now i know why i was listening
to a song called bad
you too from afar
as if i knew way back when
about being 36 and living
if thats what you call it again
rest in peace jimmy
