The MF show was great as always. Before the start of the show I was
getting a Pepsi and I noticed Melissa standing there in front of me
prepping a cup of coffee trying to look inconspicuous (her other
hand was covering up her backstage pass around her neck). I said I
had wondered how she kept her voice through the whole show, and now
I knew how: coffee. She said with a bit of a grin, "Seattle coffee!"
and moved on back towards the stage. I was pleased to see she took
her coffee with a lot of cream and sugar. She seemed particularly
emotionally raw on stage at the start of her set, so I think she was
in a bit of a mood. Apparently they had driven in from Boulder, CO
and didn't get a rest day, but she still put in her usual 110% for
the show.
