Please accept our most humble apologies for missing last night's AGM!!  I have just been reminded by that smug Mrs Shepard that we forgot to go!!  Two genuine reasons for forgetting - I have pulled a muscle in my back and have been doing very little for two weeks so the thought of going anywhere was the last thing on our minds.  Secondly, my eldest son is at a ceremonny down in London today to receive his membership into the Royal College of Anaesthestists and  we were hoping to be able to go.  It's his 5th Cap and Gown event now, and the first one we cannot attend, because there weren't enough tickets for us all to go.  So, we didn't put the AGM date on the calendar in the hope that we just might have been able to travel down at the last minute, last night.  We would, of course, have then sent our apologies!!

Ok....what did I miss?????  A word for word account please!

Love

Rhoma xx

Thank you all for your kind emails.I think its about time Merseycats
stood up to these no marks and put people straight about just what
exactly people take when they are trying to the place good.I joined
Merseycats to raise money for sick kids and to meet new people. Also to
socialize with new people,Not to take crap from people who think they
are the bees knees.Best part about it is.If you hated something so bad
why would you keep bringing it up and then try to join it again.???

Is it just me ???

Gee Andy

What were you thinking of, making such a huge mistake as that, on the Merseycats website??  You could be hung for less!!  Teeheeee.

I think you are now getting a small idea of what it's been like in the past, not just for the present committee, but when Derek and I were on the Committee too.

Keep your chins up.

Hi Andy,

I know exactly how you feel. It happened to me during my stint as secretary.  I made the mistake of miss-directing a donation from a raffle which ended up in one hell of a hullabaloo!

You should know by now that you are not allowed to be human and make mistakes! You should realise that one has to be 'perfic' in some peoples eyes!!!

Keep up the good work.

I've semi-retired my washboard mate! Quarrymen doing fine. I was talking to Rod Davis and Colin Hanton before the Buddy Holly tribute night - which was absolutely superb by the way.

We are taking the cruise at the end of June, beginning July over our wedding anniversary. Looking forward to it big time!

I'll dip into the photo bucket and shout if I get stuck.

See you again soon mate and keep Searchin'

We really did intend to get there last night, but with one thing and another we didn't make it.  Nic couldn't come either, and we do like to go if Nic can go too.  Glad the evening was a good one.  We really will try to get there next week!

Love

Rhoma xx

Just wanted to say to everyone concerned that last night was superb! Plenty
of variety and brilliant performances from everybody who took part.

Mi Amigo Paul was caught out a couple of times weren't you mate? Get them
next time!

I liked the interactivity with the audience, especially when Searchin' let
our photographer up to sing with them. I think his name was Andy? Anyway,
photos are great but don’t look for a career in singing! What? Oops, you are
the singer??????? Only kidding mate, really enjoyed the Searchers' numbers
in particular, and you managed to get round to take the photos as well. Keep
up the good work.

Great finale too with the Shakers who are incredible performers and finished
off a great night's entertainment.

Well done to everybody, as we managed to raise over £1,000 too.

We were very sad to hear the news of the death of Roag's father, Neil Aspinall.  Our thoughts go out to the family.

Hi everyone.I would say members but as we all know NON members can
also read this.
I recently started up a Myspace account on behalf of Merseycats
childrens charity the other week and i would like to announce that it
is doing better than ever imagined.People from near and far are
contacting us.To date as a result from Myspace we have 2 new members 2
visiting bands coming over and over 400 emails saying how well " We "
are all doing and that they wished they had some sort of thing near
them. Now if i may remind you all this site has only been up and
running for less than 3 weeks and already we have had just over 3000
visitors to our page. Not only that we have an active link from Myspace
to our official site run by Dave Bedford.I have recieved on behalf of
Merseycats some really great stories about what Merseycats have done
for the children of Merseyside who are now adults.I can tell you all
it is a rewarding job for me to be reading these fantastic messages
first hand. There is even a story ( To which i have posted on here )
About a guy Martyn whom met his wife on the Royal Iris gig that
Merseycats held.If anyone ( Members ) Would like anything inputting on
the site please let me know as I need as much info as pos to keep it
updated,Also if you would email our friend Davi` Bedford also. That way
we have all angles covered. Thanks for reading my novel. If Rhoma or
Derek should read this I apologise for my spelling and grammer hahahaha.

I will message this forum regular to inform you all about emails that
i have recieved and any letters to keep you all informed,After all
with out all our members and supporters where would we be,

Erm let me think a place with NO supporters NO members nor audience
ermmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. errrmmmmmmmmmmmmmm If i say this posting will be
deleted,We ALL now where lol hahahaha.

I have added a tribute and news to the Merseycats homepage already. I spoke to Rory Best, Pete's brother, yesterday. Neil was suffering from lung cancer and had been fighting it but it was in vane. Neil, as well as being the head of Apple, was father to Roag Best, Pete's half-brother.

Our thoughts are with them all at this time

Neil Aspinall, 66; longtime Beatles friend and business associate

The legendary group's original road manager, Aspinall went on to run the Beatles' Apple Corps empire for 40 years.

Neil Aspinall, a lifelong pal of the Beatles from their scuffling days in Liverpool, England, who became their road manager and then spent 40 years as the chief protector of the group's recorded legacy as head of Apple Corps, has died of lung cancer. He was 66.

Aspinall died at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He had stepped down last year after four decades of running Apple Corps, where he led the company's trademark-infringement lawsuit against Steve Jobs' Apple Inc. At the time, a source in the Beatles camp said Aspinall retired at least partly because of his health.
