strong reading skills in the Baltimore, Maryland metro area. We are a
unique ensemble of a cappella singers that was formally established in

who had a dedicated interest in forming an excellent a capplla choir

Baltimore-Washington region offering Fall and Spring programs that
include music of many genres and traditions. The repertoire is
constantly expanding, and program input is encouraged from its
members. If you are interested in auditioning, please contact Herb
Dimmock at (717)533-6873 or thdimmock@.... You may also reach

Euphonism, a 7-member co-ed vocal band based in the Washington, DC metro area, is now holding open auditions!!  We sing a variety of pop, R&B and rock covers as well as original music  - all a cappella. We perform an average of 1-2 times per month and rehearse twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays.  We aren't looking for any particular voice part - we are looking for someone who will be a positive addition to our group in vocal abilities and beyond.

Those interested in auditioning should be able to demonstrate:
* confident solo vocals
* blending abilities for backup vocals
* the ability to learn new music quickly (sightreading a plus!)
* the dedication to regularly attend twice weekly rehearsals
* the desire to perform regularly
* a positive attitude about rehearsing, performing and being part of a talented, fun group :)

Other perks we are keeping eye out for (not absolutely necessary, but would definitely be a plus!):
* knowledge of music theory/arranging experience
* HTML, graphic design or other creative abilities
* ability to produce creative percussive sounds (with your mouth of course!)
* ability to hit some of those bottom-of-the-barrel low notes (male or female!)

As a semi-professional group, Euphonism members are unpaid, however, opportunities for paid performances exist within our networks for those intersted in professional opportunities.

If you are interested in scheduling an audition, please contact Amanda at amanda@... or mpanda19@... as soon as possible.  Auditions will continue until we find the right fit, so the earlier you can meet with us the better!

To learn more about Euphonism, please visit us on the web at www.euphonism.com or on MySpace at www.myspace.com/euphonism.  We're also on Facebook, CASA, YouTube.....;)

The AM/FM ministry, a Barbershop VLQ in Montgomery County, MD, is
looking for men. We're heading into the Christmas season, and want to
be able to have the group go to as many nursing homes and hospitals
around Washington, DC as possible, without the stress it puts on the
family. Last year we attended 6 events during the Christmas season.
This year we would like to do more. So we want to expand the group so
we can have as few as four guys go to a place, and still be able to
deliver the Christmas spirit to as many people as possible.

Last year it was places like the Pentagon, Washington Center for Aging,
and Walter Reed. This year, who knows where we may end up?

We're meeting now on Tuesday nights in Gaithersburg. We're going to try
adding a Saturday afternoon rehearsal to see if we can pick up some
guys who can't make Tuesday nights. If you're intersted, drop me a line
at john_hosie@....

God bless.

BVJE is a new “a cappella pops” organization and we're looking to expand our membership. It is a unique group singing five to nine part arrangements. The music ranges from swing of the 40's to ballads of the 80's; Duke Ellington to Madonna.  Auditions are currently being held for all parts, Soprano through Bass.

The ensemble is currently rehearsing at “Bright View” located at 8100 Rossville Blvd., Baltimore, MD 21236; at 7:00 PM on Thursday nights and auditions are held at 6:30 or after rehearsal (to fit your schedule).  More information about the group's Arranger/Director Joe Mannherz can be found at www.highfivelive.com.

If your current choir/band isn't giving you the musical “satisfaction” you originally anticipated, and you would like to pioneer a new group singing fascinating arrangements with vocal percussion, give us a call.

HARMONIZATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION, the premiere all-male a
cappella group in the DC region whose twelve-syllable name is derived
from a popular Revolutionary War era battle cry, is holding auditions
to fill out its line up with the goal of rocking people's faces off.
Seriously. That goal is in our charter.

A little about us, straight out of our Match.com dating profile:

We're 6 fun-loving guys who have singing experience with some of the
nation's best collegiate a cappella groups, including Michigan
Amazin' Blue, Harvard Callbacks, Oxford Out of the Blue, The
Pitchforks of Duke University, Georgia Accidentals, Jem and the
Hollograms (just making sure you're paying attention...), and W&M
Gentlemen of the College. We rehearse once a week, generally in
downtown DC, and look to perform about once a month in the Metro
area. Our ever-expanding repertoire ranges from Barbershop to Pop,
Spirituals to Rock, and Soup to Nuts.

Here's where you come in. We're looking for a Tenor 1 to ice our
proverbial cake. If you've got experience singing, enjoy a cappella
and can hit notes that sometimes only dogs can appreciate, please
contact Derek at derek.dd.smith@... to set up an audition.
We're trying to make this happen as soon as possible, so get on your
horse and bring the noise!

For over four years now, AM/FM has been a men's a cappella music ministry singing barbershop style a cappella gospel and patriotic music, and hymns. We focus on performing free of charge for patients in nursing homes and hospitals in the DC area, and for the US military. We've also occasionally sung at church services and other events. If we have a request for ministry, and we have at least four guys able to make it covering all four parts, we'll go.

Last year we performed at half a dozen places between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We had from four to 10 guys going to any single event. This year we'd like to double the number of venues we perform at. We'd like to expand the group to be able to cover all the places we think would appreciate our ministry.

Any men with an ear for harmony and a desire to serve are welcome to join us. We'll be rehearsing the Christmas program for the next several weeks, and have two rehearsals each week you can choose from - Tuesday nights from 7-9 and Saturday afternoons from 3-5.

Contact me for details. We'd love to have you join us.

Sincerely,

You know you want your Holiday Bobs fix, Beantown. The Bobs will regale the North
Shore with their occasionally dulcet tones, 30-40 min. from Boston. Just get in the car.

2008 MEDIA RAVES FOR THE BOBS

"
Let's just get this out of the way right away before
this review goes any further: The Bobs are amazing. They have won over
a grizzled folkie who thinks tunes are incomplete without a guitar solo
or two...The songs themselves are well-arranged, joyful, and in most cases, hysterical...It's
hard to be funny without being corny, and hard to be intelligent
without being overly clever and trite. The Bobs succeed on these fronts...
rewarding ear-candy of the best kind."

"You'll figuratively lie on your back just like a trusting puppy and let the four of them
musically scratch your belly with dizzy ditty after dizzy ditty."
-Backstage

HI TO ALL FINE SINGERS IN OUR AREA!

Greetings from A Cappella Showcase Chorus...you are welcome to come (no obligation to join) to sing with our mixed a cappella group (SATB) for the next 3 Mondays (7:30PM - 10:00PM) and then perform with us on the first weekend in December.  (One of our performances that weekend will be as strolling carolers for the Frederick Candlelight House Tour on Saturday, Dec. 6th, from 5:00PM - 9:00PM...with lots of stops for hot chocolate & goodies to eat.)

If you're a sight reader, our holiday repertoire will be a snap for you.  If you don't read music, we have good learning CD's for you to take home to practice.  While our normal repertoire is always memorized, we do use our decorated red notebooks from which we sing at our holiday performances.

If you love to sing contemporaaryy &  traditional Christmas carols as much as we do, please give a call to (301) 257-7462 for directions and further information.

Give YOURSELF a MUSICAL GIFT this year...

Come SING with the soon-to-be-famous A CAPPELLA SHOWCASE CHORUS!

Happy Holidays ~
