Dear Fans,

So, I'm scratching my head a bit here.  We have a stellar lineup for the Sweeps this year, yet our ticket prices are lagging.

Talk to me, people!  Is it the ticket price?  Ticketmaster fees?  Are you waiting until the day of show to walk up and purchase?

Please email me at tdonat@... and let me know your feedback.

I am committed to producing a quality show at an affordable price.

Right now, everything is on the table, including finding another venue so we can keep our costs down.

I need your input!

Thank you!

Best regards,
Ted Donat

We would like to have the upcoming Mid Atlantic Harmony Sweepstakes reviewed and
are not sure whether somebody will post something on the newsgroup this year or
not.

We therefore offer a couple of tickets or a handful of a cappella CDs to anybody
who would like to write about the show.

We are looking more for a colorful, creative, informative, documentation of the
event rather than critiques but would welcome any and all comments and opinions.
It's a way of letting folks who didn't make it that evening to get the feel of
what it was like to be there.

Anybody interested?

Hi again all,

Mid Atlantic Harmony Sweeps competitors, Christian a cappella group VOICES OF TRUTH is conducting auditions to replace two outgoing members, and add two new voices.  All voice ranges considered!  We are based in the West-Central Maryland area.  Please visit http://www.voicesoftruthsing.com/auditions  for full details.

Voices Of Truth has been bringing inspirational pop and rock radio hits to audiences both inside and outside the church since 2008.  We are active in the a cappella community and participate in festivals and competitions whenever possible.  We have:

  • A growing list of original arrangements of songs by popular Christian artists such as MercyMe, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Brandon Heath.
  • A recording studio for producing learning materials and demos.
  • Our own PA equipment and dedicated sound engineer.
  • Well-defined business model and performance goals: You will know what you're in for.

Hey, folks!

We have secured a date for next year's Mid-Atlantic Regional:  Saturday, April 9th, 2011!

Great news:  I managed to prevail on the
good folks at The Birchmere to drop the ticket price down from $35 to $29.50!

The bad news is that you all have to sit in the parking lot.

(In case your lack a sense of irony, that was a joke.)

Those pesky Ticketmaster fees will still apply, but at least you'll all have $5.50 per ticket back in your pockets!

Thanks again to all of you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you next year!

Be a part of New York City's most dynamic and exciting group of singers: Voices
of Gotham.

Voices of Gotham is a competitive and performing chorus specializing in the rich
musical tradition of barbershop harmony. Our membership is comprised of
professional actors and musicians, current and former college a cappella
singers, and men who simply enjoy raising their voices in song.

Voices of Gotham has made incredible strides over its first two years, most
recently performing in front of a 10,000 member audience at an International
chorus competition. The chorus is dedicated to constant improvement, and
regularly contracts highly-respected professional music and presentation coaches
to refine and elevate our performances. Above all however, VoG's members sing
for the absolute joy of it; members can be found before and after rehearsal
singing in informal quartets, reveling in the tightly locked and ringing chords
you can only find in barbershop harmony.

Come to our free guest night on July 22nd to learn more about barbershop harmony
and other contemporary a cappella styles, and to find out how you can be a part

Join Us for SMART MOUTH A Cappella Camp!

AUGUST 20-21, 2010 | HERNDON, VA

SMART MOUTH will strengthen your musical foundation, build your confidence and unlock the secrets of the rewarding world of contemporary all-vocal performance.  Students will work one-on-one with Snowday - the leading educational vocal band in the Mid-Atlantic.  Over the course of 2 days, students will go from start to finish – creating a performance from scratch and revealing the product of their work in a final live performance.  Workshops will cover: Knowledge & Networking, Musicianship, Performance, Group Management and more!

Students will take their new skills to the stage and perform, followed by a full concert with Snowday on Saturday evening for the general public.  Proceeds from the concert will benefit Helping Children Worldwide. Additional donations are warmly welcomed.

This session of SMART MOUTH is for current high school and college undergraduates.  Students are encouraged to attend as individuals or bring along their current group.  Individual coaching sessions for groups and individuals in attendance are also available by request. Space is limited to ensure the highest quality programming.

Tuition ranges from $200-$250, with discounts for groups and members of the Contemporary A Cappella Society (CASA).  Tuition includes all workshops, lunch on both days, dinner on Day 2 and 1 complimentary ticket to the final performance.

About Snowday
Drawing from extensive and varied musical experiences, Snowday brings a fresh take on the a cappella sound. Building from the genre’s roots in classical, spiritual, barbershop and doo wop, Snowday creates the illusion of a full rock band without using instruments.  Since 2008, Snowday has provided contemporary music programs for schools in DC, Maryland, and Virginia as part of the Class Acts Arts roster.

Any assistance is spreading the word is appreciated!

Thank you!
