On page 47 of the manual they talk about volume when using the built in
expression pedal. I suspect the same may be true when using en external
expression pedal.
From the manual:
When you have used the EXP pedal to add an effect to a patch, and you switch
to another patch, the pedal effect will be cancelled regardless of the
pedal's position. The newly selected patch will play as programmed - the EXP
pedal's position will begin to affect the sound the first time it is moved
after the sound has been selected. However, if both of the patches being
switched between have "Volume", "Volume 1ST", or "Volume 2ND" assigned to
them, the prevailing volume level, as determined by the position of the EXP
pedal before the patch change, will be carried over to the patch being
switched to.
I don't have a GR-33 but my GR-30 behaves in a similar fashion. One thing to
keep in mind with this setup is that every patch you use will need to have
Volume assigned to the expression pedal in the same way. I select patches
using the S1/S2 buttons so for me this also means that all of the patches I
pass through need to be set up this way. I know this works on my GR-30 using
a volume pedal on the expression jack. I am pretty sure it worked the same
way using MIDI when I ran the MIDI out of a VG-99 to MIDI in of the GR-30.
Thanks,
Dave

Subject: [midiguitar] Need help-midi pedalboard/volume pedal/Gr33 problem
I can't get my Gr33 to recongnize where the expression pedal volume is
until I touch the pedal. I have three other midi devices and when I
step on my midi pedalboard to change presets all three devices know
where the volume is set on the pedal, even zero. When I switch to a
preset for the gr33 the volume is full blast until I touch the pedal.
I'm using a Ground Control Pro pedalboard. I used to have the smaller
Ground Control and had no problems. Voodoo Labs has not been able to
solve this one. Any ideas?
