He's a real down to earth person. And doing all of this with Jolene made the
whole experience that much more fun and special.
What a weekend! It couldn't have turned out more perfect.

Hi to all,
I decided the best way to do this was to type it up once and send it
everywhere. *grin* It was a wild and fun weekend.
It started for me on Thursday when I flew up to Ohio. Originally I had some
business meetings in Pennsylvania that were supposed to happen on Thursday
and Friday. Well, things happen and they turned into a very informal
meeting with a fellow franchisee on Thursday and we had lunch, talked a bit
of shop and she gave me a tour of Erie, PA. What a beautiful city! I
highly recommend a visit there. This left Thursday night on to just play
and have fun. No problem, I could handle that!
I have a great friend in Akron who is more like a big brother for me. So it
was fun just having the chance to hang out with him and catch up. On Friday
we just ran around Akron running errands and catching up and that night
another friend joined us for dinner. Since it was my birthday she was kind
enough to make sure they made all kinds of noise for me at the restaurant.
Gotta love it. On Saturday there was a Ronnie Milsap concert in Kenton, OH.
It was about 3 hour drive from Akron and we were off and running on Saturday
morning. The original plan had been to be there around noon to do an
interview with Ronnie for Country@.... We were then going to go on to
the Venue to catch up with some friends while they set up for the show.
Flexibility is a good thing to have when it comes to these days. We got to
the hotel shortly after noon and they said that Ronnie was on his way.
Well, about 90 minutes later he came in but wasn't quite ready to do
interview yet. So we went ahead to the venue to see everyone. It is always
fun to catch up and watch them go through their paces with making everything
is just right for the show. It is amazing what goes on behind the scenes to
make a 60 minute show happen. I was asked to be back at the hotel for a
6:30 interview. I have had the pleasure of speaking with many artists over
the last couple of years, but this interview with Ronnie was very special
for me. I feel it went great and everyone is going to enjoy listening to
what he had to say on a variety of things. I'll post a link when it is
live. Ronnie is very easy to talk to and has so many stories to share that
time flies when talking with him.
The show itself was wonderful. We had gotten there early enough to put our
lawn chairs front and center and they were the best seats on the field.
Ronnie took the stage at 9 pm and went for just over an hour. Brian Matney
did a short opening act and of course re-visited later to sing a little
Elvis with Ronnie. The show opened with "Prisoner of the Highway" and we
also heard "Any Day Now," "Smokey Mountain Rain," "Lost in the Fifties,"
"Woman in Love," "You Don't Know My Love," "America" and there were a couple
of others thrown in there as well. I got some great photos which will be
posted in the Delphi Forum as soon as I can pick out a few and crop them for
posting.
I flew out of Cleveland Sunday afternoon and was back in Florida at 6:30. I
finished off the trip with a late birthday dinner at The Cheesecake Factory
with my family. Great dinner and awesome cheesecake! *grin* After all the
excitement it was good to spend the day yesterday just relaxing at home and
off course today it is back to the rat race.
