Hello all -
Introduction - I've been slowly building a modular synth. It's been
about 2 years now, and I've been mostly building motm kits, with some
blacet also. So far I'm about 1/2 way done with my planned system,
although the "plan" has been changing regularly since I started this
thing. The grand scheme calls for a hardware sequencer, and the milton
seemed like the best one out there for my interests. So I bought a kit
recently from Big City - I think it's a version 4.1, although the
board says 1.4. The manual seems to indicate that it's a 4.1.
I'm in no big hurry to finish this thing - doing it right is more
important to me than doing it fast, and besides, I have a lot of other
things on my plate. Finding an hour three or four times a week is
about my schedule for these things, so it's gonna take months.
Faceplate - I want a motm compatible one - I assume that at least on
of the fpd's in the file section are motm compatible - does anyone
have pictures of the finished versions of these? I've never dealt with
Schaffer before, so don't want to waste money if I can help it. Larry
Hendry and I had discussed a stooge panel for the milton, but that
probably won't happen now.
I've gotten orders for some of the parts from mouser, and had to use
digikey for some parts mouser didn't have. I used the xls file to
order from, but have noticed tonight while stuffing resistors that
some of the numbers are off. Not a problem, but other persons in my
situation might want to take note of this. I'm suspecting that I may
have more specific parts questions in the future as I get more into
this. The only current one I have is that the manual notes one missing
diode indication on the pcb, but I have 3 diodes actually, all in the
same general vicinity, that have no printed designation - ?
I'm going to have to spend some time looking at these messages to find
all the pertinent tips and tricks and fixes and such. It looks like a
great sequencer - Thanks Peter!
