Hi there Mailing List Folks!

There are two big things coming up in the world of noisy goodness!

Wednesday 4th March Steve Beresford, John Edwards, Will Connor at the Klinker

First, in appreciation of Steve Beresford's birthday (albeit a day or two off), the Klinker is presenting Steve Beresford on piano, John Edwards on bass, and yours truly on drums. I can't express how honoured I am to have been asked to be part of this celebration and I can't express how much I appreciate Steve's kindness, inspiration, and friendship since I moved to London a year and half ago! He's truly a star on and off the stage! Come celebrate the anniversary of the arrival of this musical genius on our planet by basking in his masterful ivory tickling along with the incredible, tastefully-placed energetic sounds of John Edwards' low end madness!

This Klinker event is being held at the Ivy House, 40 Stuart Road, Nunhead, London SE15. Doors at 19:30, show at 20:00. £5/£3 Concessions.

For other Klinkers listings check out http://www.iotacism.com/klinkerizer/index.shtml

Saturday 7th March Vultures, Diva Abrasiva, BLISTRAP, Ampersand, and special guest Steve Beresford at Cafe OTO

Vultures has the great pleasure of opening for a night of amazing artists when we play with Diva Abrasiva from Edinburgh featuring Composer Lin Zhang and their cross between improv and industrial sounds using Chinese folk instruments and power tools! Also on the bill are Sheffield's BLISTRAP showcasing Mick Beck on reeds, Jonny Drury on guitar and electronics and Phill Wood on percussion. Last but certainly not least is London's own Ampersand, bringing huge metal sculptures to the stage to enhance their detuned bass and an array or electronics and homemade noise makers!

Steve Beresford, a day after his real birthday, will be giving a talk on electronic goodies and improv, and representatives from Fractured Spaces Records and Back to the Womb Records will be selling their wares. If has not been confirmed yet, but Dorkbot London and Open Lab have both been asked to participate with tables displaying their projects and information on their upcoming workshops and other electronic music related events.

What a night! Cafe OTO is located near Dalston Junction and Dalston Kingsland stations at 18-22 Ashwin Street, E8 3DL. The fantastic entertainment starts at 20:00. £7/£5 Concessions. Pre-sale tickets and more information is available online at http://cafeoto.co.uk/programme/Ampersand_000.shtm

Other news this week includes: a recording with Twitchy Spleen for his new solo album, a trip to Berlin for building medieval style frame drums, Vultures latest recording is finally being mixed and that means several tracks on upcoming compilations will be issued soon, and many more shows have been booked including the Avantnoise Festival in Hamburg and an improv festival in Macedonia!

Cheers!

Crank Igloo s/t

XVP58 (CDR)

Recording of trio: Crank Sturgeon + Igloodoom (where Igloodom is a duo of Thaw and XV Parowek). Recorded on December 7th, 2008 in Warsaw, during Crank's visit to Poland, for his performance on "Wez to wylacz" festival. Selection contains half of raw material, which originally was over 80 minutes long. Crank's presence in the recording is subtle, without most elements of his well-known style. It's more of a collective achievement, kind of improved Igloodoom. Bleak, cold suspension, exploding with sparks here and there, full of abstract sound blobs, with sentiment to feedback. The trio easily beats a duo with fluid narration and ability to fall into spontaneous and subtle improv moments.
CDR comes in pink paper envelope, with color cover, insert and print on the cdr. Co-released by Astipalea. Limited to 75.
6 USD $$$ plus postage

Hi again list folks!

Just a quick sorry to anyone that got multiple emails from me yesterday.
It was a delivery glitch by my service provider. Apparently some people
got ten copies of my announcement for the Vultures show tomorrow! Yikes!

It's all fixed now and again, I do apologise!

Take care and I hope to see you all at the show!

CHAOSMOS.PL
Polska sztuka ezoteryczna XXI wieku

Dwujęzyczny album (jęz. polski i angielski), obfity w noty biograficzne i myśli poszczególnych artystów, inicjuje esej Dariusza Misiuny, przyczynek do dalszego namysłu na temat związków sztuki z okultyzmem.

Muzycy: HATI, SigiLL, Magic Carpathians Collective, Benicewicz, Komora A, Job Karma, Zenial, Za Siódmą Górą, Kia Karma, Christblood, Aum Xi, Thaw, MKKA / Verbalizer, Nihilista.

Hello Emailing List Folks!

Vultures have two exciting gigs this weekend! First, on Friday 12 June,
we invade Nunhead, south of the river for a grand evening of noisy
goodness, featuring Ampersand, Ryan Jordan with Mat Hourteillan,
Cheapmachines, and Zolan Wobble's One True Dog.

The show starts at 19:30 at the Ivy House, 40 Stuart Rd. SE15 3 BE.
5/3 concs., so bring those student ids and UB40 papers!

Then, on Saturday 13 June during the day, Vultures will be providing
sound and visuals for a dance installation in Edmonton. Rebecca Bogue
and Jane Munro are participating in an ongoing art presentation arranged
by Sumer Erek and supported by the Enfield Council in which she and her
co-artists will dance/perform in a store front during "shopping hours"
to the music of Vultures, allowing passers by to "window shop" between
12:00 and 16:00. Please do come out and see this borough sponsored event!

The event takes place at the Edmonton Green Shopping Centre, North Mall,
Unit 4, Edmonton Green, N9. It's free - you're just window shopping
after all!

In other news: we're still finalizing the last few dates, but Vultures
is proud to announce that we will be traveling with Post Abortion Stress
this summer to join them in providing live sound tracks for a new series
of films by NYC film maker Robert Pepper! So far the tour is taking us
north, then to the continent through Holland, Germany, and even
Macedonia! We end up back in London for the 8 year anniversary
celebration at Boat Ting, Temple Pier. This is all happening from 22
August through 07 September (see our website for details -
http://www.myspace.com/justvultures)

Finally some releases will be emerging before that summer tour and maybe
even before our show this weekend! Tursa records compilation,
distributed through Cold Spring, will be out before the end of the
summer as will appearances on Against the Stream records, Love Torture
records, and a 4-way split on Black Pyramid records with three other
fabulous noise bands!

We are also proud to announce that we will participating in the
Dictaphonia Project spearheaded by Hal McGee, artist, improviser, and
composer from Gainsville, Florida, USA, in which a compilation of
dictaphone based recordings will be published by Hal with support from a
government grant. Should be an exciting release!

That's enough bombardment for now. There's more things on the stove too:
t-shirts, a slew of upcoming shows, an Italian tour, and several more
recordings being mixed down for various labels, but more on these things
later.

Thanks and as always, if you wish to be removed from this list, no
worries! Just ask.

Take care and we'll see you this weekend!
Will aka Seesar / Vultures

Hi there mailing list!

Just a reminder that the Vultures gig with Sri Sandeep Mishra, Indian classical sarangi master, and electronics powerhouse Steve Beresford is tomorrow night! The concert takes place at the Nave, 1 St. Paul's Road N1 2QN, near Highbury and Islington station (corner of Essex and St. Paul's Road). Doors at 7:30, show at 8:00, £10/£5concs. The show is one set Indian classical, one set improvised music.

Check out some of Sandeep's classical prowess here:

http://www.myspace.com/sarangiofbarnabas

There are some tickets left, but they are selling fast, so follow this link to reserve your seat:

http://www.wegottickets.com/location/867

(Click on the Sandeep Mishra show, either full price or concessions as appropriate, and follow the instructions)

There is a misprint in the concert description on the Nave site: it states that Sandeep plays sarangi and sitar, however he only plays sarangi and that is what he will be playing at this concert.

In other news, Atomic Crashdown guitarist Twitchy Spleen (sometimes known as Richie Green) deserves a huge congratulations in advance for his upcoming wedding this weekend to his lovely fiancé Alex! Yeah!

Vultures had a successful week of recordings and performances, much of which will become available for or after our upcoming European tour with Post Abortion Stress, featuring new short films by Robert Pepper. Hopefully there will be t-shirts too! Yikes! It's like we think we're rock stars! They're fun t-shirts though...

And last, but not least, I'm adding an announcement for another event at which I have played in the past (but I won't be this time) and I think the list will find this to be something in which they will be interested:

Viking Moses! & Golden Ghost
7.30 pm Saturday 18th July
the BirdCage 58 Stamford Hill N16 6XS

Viking Moses! and Golden Ghost will be appearing on 18th July at the BirdCage 58 Stamford Hill N16 6XS. We're really pleased to announce that Viking Moses! and Golden Ghost will be playing two sets.

Viking Moses has been finding very fair attention since 2004, thanks to Devendra Banhart's "Golden Apples..." compilation and good words, followed by a signing by Alan McGee (Creation Records founder, and manager of Oasis, Jesus & Mary Chain, Primal Scream, Teenage Fanclub, Mogwai, Libertines, etc.) which has found Viking Moses high acclaim in UK and Europe, and kept them heavily active in that part of the world these past few years. UK film company Pulse Films will be releasing a feature length documentary film of Viking Moses in 2010, an experimental documentary based on cult artist Viking Moses. Filmed in America over a 5-week period in Spring 2009, the shoot was based on a tour of small house shows and other obscure musical events focusing on Viking Moses. The film tells the story of Viking Moses' long career (he has been touring since he was 14 and is now 30 years old)

You Can watch an extract of the Pulse Film about Viking Moses! by following the link:

It's a rare chance to see two great artists in an intimate setting. We'll be partying till 3am* with DJ sets in the venue. The door charge will £8 on the night. Entry to the pub is of course free but only one hundred places are available to see the show. It's first come first served so we advise getting there early to avoid disappointment.

Thank you for your continued support!

Cheers all and see you soon and a delightful creative music event!
