SHEPHERDS BUSH IN 2008
We are very pleased to be able to announce a very special one time only event!
Typical of Wayne's contrariness NOT to celebrate the 20th or even the 21st
anniversary of The Mission, the band will be celebrating their 22nd year of
existence with four shows on consecutive nights at Shepherds Bush Empire,
London, from Wednesday 27th February through to Saturday 1st March, 2008. Each
night will be dedicated to a specific album and time period with the band
performing albums in their entirety along with relevant single 'b' sides and
live favourites from that particular time.
Wednesday 27th February: First Chapter
Thursday 28th February: God's Own Medicine
Friday 29th February: Children
Saturday 1st March: Carved In Sand
We will let you have more details in the week or so regarding tickets etc.
These will be the last shows the band will commit to playing as Wayne has
decided that he wants an indefinate break from band activity to concentrate on
other personal pet projects. Wayne has promised a full statement within the next
few days.
We also hope to be able to announce further international shows for later this
year (2007) within the next few weeks but we can tell you now that there will be
no further UK shows this year.

ah, tis all alright - i knew it wasnt sold out, i was merely trying to
spare someone else having a ticket they couldnt use that was already
paid for and thus ensuring the booking agents got less of our combined
dosh and thus everyone wins - and i did, so all's well! in fact, didnt
even have to pay a booking fee.... :o)

and i *so* don't do 0870 numbers as we have no working landline!!

;o)

all in all it was a pretty top night out though! think i might have
spent a little too much at the bar...in the end!

I had also forgotten that this list is usually so dead as mostly
everyone uses the website based forum - personally i've always found
mailing lists so much easier to deal with than trawling online thru a
web interface but seems to be the trend with everything these days -
even heartland is busier than dominion because forums are more tolerant
of wittering off topicness...

damn well do wish people would stick to mailing lists though - so much
easier to keep up on a single window with all my mail filtered into
lists and such...

i'd say this list is so quiet, you might have more luck on the currently
thriving rosetta stone myspace profile at
www.myspace.com/undertherosettastone either as a comment eliciting
requests for info or as a message to request the query be blogged?

Once upon a time, Wayne was an active member on this
board and was very supportive during the development
of the tribute cd. I can't remember how good the songs
he contributed were, but of course he rarely writes a
bad tune. Don't remember who helped put it together
(Karst?), but after a looong time, it was finally
done, burned and sold to the members of this board.

There was a tribute cd called Songs from the Wasteland
that was distributed by the industrial label,
ReConstriction Records out of California around 98.
Tony Lestat of L.A. goth band, The Wreckage, put that
comp together. It's pretty good, featuring local LA
goth bands like Last Dance, The Shroud, Eva O, Human
Drama, Christ Analogue, etc. Half the tracks are
industrial reworks as half the bands are industrial
bands while the other half are goth versions from the
goth bands. Not too bad, but sadly way out of print.
Wayne was not involved with this compilation.

You can read a detailed review of the album here:
http://www.wrappedinwire.com/V/Various-SongsFromTheWasteland.htm

A photo of the album is here:

rious_Artists~CLT-HSNLF

According to the liner notes, the cover is an inside
joke to... who knows?

And finally, there's the Mish DVD, "Lighting the
Candles" which features a snippet of a new song,
Lighting the Candles as well as a brand new song,
Breathe Me In, which reminded me a lot of the old
Mish, specifically from the Gods Own Medicine album
and well worth the price of the DVD just for that
track.
