The Ministry of Inside Things will perform a benefit concert at
The Gatherings Concert Series on Saturday 20 September 2008
at 8:00pm. Tennesse spacemusic duo Mahoney & Peck will
open.
Including Chuck van Zyl (synths) and Art Cohen (guitar), The
Ministry of Inside Things are considered among the most
innovative of US spacemusicians today. Equally influenced by
the early groundbreaking music of Tangerine Dream, Klaus
Schulze and Ash Ra Tempel as well as that of rock groups Pink
Floyd and The Grateful Dead, their work has been described as
linear, pushing forward across a diverse sonic terrain.
The Ministry of Inside Things will release a new double CD at
their performance at The Gatherings. Music from "Ambient
Elsewhere" has been drawn from several recent tour
performances and features definitive live versions of classic
MoIT pieces like "Love Attack" and "Naylor's Run". The album
contains two one hour long suites of spacemusic and easily
flows through a variety of themes, energy levels and styles.
The Gatherings Concert Series presents The Ministry of Inside
Things w/Mahoney + Peck live in concert on Saturday 20
September 2008 at 8:00pm in the church sanctuary of St. Mary's
Hamilton Village 3916 Locust Walk in Philadelphia. Proceeds
from the event will benefit The Corporation for Innovative Music
and Arts of PA (CIMA of PA). Admission: $20 at the door, night of
show.
