Wow! It turns out that there are several Mellotron owners in and around the New England,USA area. So why not create an e-group to keep in touch!
If you are a recording artist and wish to use the genuine article, just send e-mail to the Moneypit YahooGroup. We have a variety of units (mostly Mellotron M400s) and sounds available---flutes, cellos, 3-violins, MK II brass, vibes, choir, church organ, and more!
We do our best to maintain our machines in top condition, but, well, they *are* Mellotrons and do indeed have their own unique quirks...Hints, secrets, experiences, playing hints, whatever are all welcome here on the e-group, all in an effort to *keep* our machines in A1 condition and get the most use out of them we can. THEY ARE MADE TO BE PLAYED, FOLKS.
