Hello all,
I just joined. I don't own a Mellotron nor do I live in New England
but I have always loved the sound of Mellotrons and I like New
England
too ;) (My Father was born in Mass and I have brother who lives there
now...not to mention a good number of relatives too...)
I enjoy a wide range of music from the late 60s & 70s that employ the
mighty 'tron, for example, lots of the 70s "prog", TD, Moody Blues,
etc.
I'm grew up in the USA but now I live in Finland. Not many Mellotrons
over here, but I do live near Sweden where the current ones are
built ;) Maybe a new 'tron in the near future...?
If I had lots of extra money to spend I would buy a Mellotron but I
don't so I hoping to invest in a stand alone sampler (like an Akai)
and the Mike Pinder CD-ROM from Mellotron.com.
This would be a nice addition to my Micromoog, Korg MS2000, 70s
Yamaha home organ, lots of effects and a (broken) Farfisa type combo
organ made by GEM (marketed as a Viggen in Scandinavia).
I will be visiting this site from time to time to see whats up and
will probably be looking for Mellotron and Mellotron sampling advice.
Long live the Mellotron!
Allan
P.S.
I just recieved the "Improvised Waves" CD. Fantastic!! Nice work!
