Hello Sandra-
Thanks for the email. Yes, this is a good question for the Executive Board to
discuss.....
I am guessing that the purpose of a game like this is to give the students in Mu
Phi a kind of notariety by putting their achievements up before the student body
and in the process of guessing who the mystery
student is, the student body will learn about the students who are in Mu Phi
Epsilon. The point is for the student body to be guessing who the mystery
student is. However, if they already know who is in Mu Phi they may have the
names and a pretty good idea who it is. I would say that the main question is
whether this game would entice other students to join Mu Phi.
Hope you are enjoying the warm summer...
Sincerely,
Sue

Susan,
I like your reply to Tracy. I have forwarded her email to members of the
Executive Board asking for their opinion. I will get back to Tracy soon.

Hello Tracy
I can't speak to the issue of whether it is ethical or not.....but for sure if
you do the Mus Clues idea
you should only put up FACTS about the person that show their assets, best
qualities, and highest
achievements. ....You could put up the state where they are from, their
instrument, awards they have
won, gender, honors they have won, etc
Best of luck in the coming year,

Subject: [Mu Phi Epsilon International] a question of ethics and candy
Hello hello all,
It's Tracy from EK at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. I was wondering
if I could get some opinions from the peanut gallery about a plan to drum up
some attention on our chapter's bulletin board. My idea is called Mu's clues
(based of the children's television show Blues Clue's) Once a month random facts
about an active member of our chapter will be displayed without directly
revealing who they are. I objective is to have the student body guess who the
person is from the clues revealed. The person who guesses correctly will win a
giant candy bar...most likely a symphony bar...
The only problem I am having difficulty deciding, is this ethical? I can see the
pros and cons, but I would like some second opinions.
Thanks
Tracy Leggett
