Tracy,
The one person you should contact about your situation is our
President, Fran Irwin. This is her job and she's not far from you in
St. Louis. Fran is certainly an accessable person and will get back to
you right away. In fact, she already may be aware of your problem.
Good luck and hang in there with your Mu Phi values and principles!

hello,
Now it is I who is asking for help again. I have just graduated Mu Psi
Chapter and am looking to see if there are any Mu Phi alums or currents
that are in the Milwaukee, WI area. I miss my camerades and am looking
to hang out just to share in good times.
Please let me know if there is someone around!
Thanks,
JoAnna--new student at UWM.
Hi Tracy (and all others in this situation)!!
I was sort of in a semi-similiar situation with the Mu Psi Chapter in
Cedar Rapids, IA. Except we didn't have SAI's, but Sinfonians (PMA),
who competed for the guys with us and another music group who wanted
to become SAI but couldn't for one reason or another and remained
Sigma Phi Mu as a solitary women's fine arts/music club.
Long before I got to the school there was rivalry of course, and I
became VP one year after trying as IFMRep since a lot of the
Sinfonians were my friends. It was so hard to get all the groups to
come together. It seemed as if, if I put it together and did all the
work, then yes they might consider participating in a joint recital,
etc. But it never pulled through because there's no way I could get
all those guys (and the girls too) to fully pull their own weight.
Then my last year in Mu Phi, PMA said, oh hey, want to do a recital?
And managed to put one together--but the trick was--it was all done
without the Mu Phis at the very end because PMA and SPM managed to
more closely collaborate and basically left out the Mu Phis in the
planning.
Needless to say, we felt forgotten, but also busy on our own accord,
stage-managing and doing our own services and recitals. I think in
the past several years we have gotten more new initiates who are more
close as friends/camerades with the other two music groups on our
small campus. That will help relations more than just one person can
pull all that weight. Whether you're doing it or not, as VP it is
your job to find new people when you do pledges that you can trust to
build your community on campus and around town, and build up the
chapter, not just finding people who "qualify" for all the
requirements of Mu Phi. Make sure they are up to everything Mu Phi
stands for, including music community. (ps-we had about 3 people drop
out who "qualified" for mu phi, but didn't want to live up to the
expectations and live as a Mu Phi. The remainder of people in the
fraternity have managed to pull their weight and make our group more
wonderful than ever!
I hope this gives you a bit of hope. Good luck with everything and
let us all know how things turn out! Don't forget about recruiting
this year--make it worthwhile! :)
Mu Phi love,
JoAnna

Hi There Nicole
We are in Michigan, which is a bit too far I am afraid...
But, my suggestion to you is,
try to get ahold of a Mu Phi Epsilon Triangle Magazine
and find out the nearby chapters in your area and get
in touch with the presidents/vice presidents this summer.
If you don't have a triangle then I suggest emailing our
Alumni Advisor, Dr. Kurt Alexander Zeller and
Collegiate Advisor, Dr. Martha MacDonald.
They are wonderful and very knowledgable and will
surely have some good suggestions ....
Best of luck to you and your chapter,

Just another post to say hello, and I'm moving back to Milwaukee, WI

school in the area (which is what I plan to do --grad school).
Pop me a line or post! Hope to hear from someone soon!

Hey,
My name is Tracy Leggett and I am a studnet at Southern Illinois
University @ Carbondale. We are in need of some serious help. We need
ideas for interest parties, we need some history (more than the website
provides) we need a lot of help! So any information/wisdom anyone can
provide will be of great use!
Just to let you know we are taking care of everything that needs to be
taken care of. We have an advisor who is an alum, Dr. Jeanine Wagner
with additional support from Dr. Suzanne Lord who is also an alum. We
have contacted the closest Alumni chapter in St Louis, Mo. We have
sent word to the other chapter in our province @WIU. And we are in
talks with Dr. Fran Irwin...So yeah, we think everything seems to be in
order in dealing with those issues...
Again, any advice, or wisdom, good luck spells, ect are more than
welcome and extremely appreciated
Yours in music

Hello everyone, my name is Jaime Oliva and I attended CSUDH in 1994 - 1996. I
joined the foundation in 94 and ever since I left college. I never really
participated with the foundation because of my excuse, real life. But now I
have come to the conclusion that one makes room for what one wants in ones life
and therefore, it becomes part of ones life. I want Mu Phi Epsilon to be a part
of my life and I want to give to this foundation. Therefore, Iook forward to
participating and being a part of the lives of many other Mu Phi members.
