acoustical vs. digital pianos


Hi Pat!
In one of the places away from home, I have a (rather cheap) Casio
electronic piano called Privia. It has 88 keys and all the gizmos you want.
For me as a beginner it is useful to provide the fingers with enough
exercise, but neither touch nor tone will ever come close to the real thing.
While I can get sort of 'intoxicated' on a real piano just by listening to
the variety of sounds one can produce, there is no such feeling on an
electronic one. I guess you can play very fast on a digital piano (IF you
can and if necessary), but you cannot really play beautifully...
